To add a whole idealistic quality to the debate how about "children of eden"?

Sounds a bit too hippy-like perhaps, but a nosy at the bible suggests that Adam and Eve had no inhibitions till the dozy pair decided apple-scoffing was the way forward. Keeps the doctor away my arse...

We are a taboo. Years ago gays lesbians or bi's were in the closet now its our turn I prefer to call myself a try sexual and live in the moment and enjoy every experience that I have.

There are SO many reasons to NOT be called children .... of ANYTHING.....

Its just a name. Its non offensive and people know what the terminology means so I see no problem with it. You could re-brand like they did with snickers bars and ciff but it is rarely an improvement.

I've never really had to use the word "swingers", I have said "swing partner" a few times and made myself giggle as I really can't see myself as a swing dancer

The word "swinger" doesn't really sound fun though so I agree, something a little nicer wouldn't go amiss.

How about normal?

We have fun together, don't see other people behind each others backs, don't cheat and are open with each other.

Strange world that has all the liars, cheaters, and generally dishonest people labelled as "normal" eh!

What on earth has that got to do with the thread subject?

"What on earth has that got to do with the thread subject?"

The OP said "so any good names we could be called instead"

Hence we suggest normal. Ok, our last paragraph was slightly off-topic however we think we were still within the thread. Please explain where we went wrong?

Can see where you are coming from here, to you the life style should have a special word as it is a natural way of being? We would subscribe to this, however, as us "swingers" are still statistically in the minority we do not qualify for the term "normal".

How about the term "hedonists" instead of swingers as it implies more than sexy fun... it relates to a real sense of fun and enjoyment...?

there never been a thread that hasnt drifted so i wouldnt worry about it!!

we label things to identify them and one persons idea of normal compared to anothers is totally different and i think your point was fair xx

No, we are people, would you call a dog a person?.

I'm not so keen on the term 'swinger' to be honest, but not too bothered by it.

I prefer to say 'we swing' rather than 'we are swingers'.

what you say is very true , but the term swingers seems to cover so many different groups and lifestyles

it might be a single male or female , or a couple that seek either a male female or couple "play" hard or soft

the term swingers , does seem a bit old fashioned now , having been around a long time it always reminds me of a group of couples puting there car keys in a bowl near the end of a party

players ...... does seem a good choice , and the word hedonist seem a lot less in your face than fuck buddy seekers or shagaholics

like you say though " if it aint broke dont fix it "

Nowt wrong with the term swingers lol

it's been around for years and pretty

everyone knows it's meaning

it implies to me a feeling of liberalisim

and fun

Its not a dirty rude or seedy phrase

And it's very doubtful that anything else

would catch on xx
