"Face bothered. How does this make the news is what puzzles me.... some people just cant see past a headline and look at the wider connetations of something like this. she has a potentially psychological debilitating condition, that many would think would stop them getting anywhere in life. the more success stories we have from people with differing abilities, whether mental or physical can only give those that are newly diagnosed with such conditions the confidence to continue to follow their dreams. its not all about he or she are different, lets make them stand out." well said!! Why people have to be so cynical and dismissive i will never understand.

"Why these things make the headlines is beyond me! I mean Tom Daley being gay/Bi really, newsworthy? I don't think so " maybe to encourage more young men and women to talk about their feelings and make them realise they are 'normal' after all?

"All the poor woman wants to do is sing but so many people want to take advantage. I think it's awful. I'm not interested in her personal life and think she, and other celebrities, should be left alone. They're entertainers, not public property." In other news: Tom Daley is gay

Why people have to be so cynical and dismissive i will never understand." 'Cos it's the music business we're talking about here. As Hunter S Thompson so sagely put it "“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.”

"For living so long without knowing she had asperger's she has done so well. I wish her well in the future. Just because she has asperger's it doesnt make her any less of a human being or deserve to be treated any less so" I think it's bloody awful that she has slipped through the net all these years, but then others have too. Just maybe it will bring more awareness to the subject which would be fantastic

"if these things are never discussed so we run the risk of them just being swept under the carpet? i think so. If a parent has a child diagnosed with aspergers there is every chance they could feel that their child will struggle with life. Now they can see you can go on a talent show, win and be a world wide celebrity if they wanted to, or they can go work down the local sainsbury's if that's more their style. discussing this n the news will inevitably create links to charities that offer support and advice when they wouldn't usually get air time."

I don't think so maybe to encourage more young men and women to talk about their feelings and make them realise they are 'normal' after all?" But the FRONT page of a newspaper? I really think there was more important news to report!

I don't think so maybe to encourage more young men and women to talk about their feelings and make them realise they are 'normal' after all?" Here here!!!! My lad is Autistic and has cerebral palsy, the more famous people who are successful with these or any other conditions like it and in the media will give my child and any other special needs child the courage to achieve their dreams and goals!!!

"With respect, can I just point out Autism/Aspergers is not a mental health problem, it's a nurological disability!" We shouldn't let a few factual inaccuracies get in the way of an album marketing campaign.

"With respect, can I just point out Autism/Aspergers is not a mental health problem, it's a nurological disability!" I worked in in-patient adolescent psychiatry, rarely on occasion we had patients..it can still be seen as a mental health issue

When a child/adult is being assessed for Autism, they see different professionals to be assessed! My son was diagnosed by a Peadiatric consultant who specialises in special needs, not a psychiatrist

"I've worked with someone with Aspergers..... still doesn't alter the fact it doesn't need to be a headline.... " Working with someone is not the same as being a parent/ carer or the actual person who has this! We need as much awareness as possible, so why shouldn't it be on the front page!

" as i have said before, if 1 child that has aspergers, reads this headline and is inspired to fight on and not let the condition get them down, well call me rose tinted, but to us (V has a child with aspergers and is doing very well in accountancy college) that is a lot more newsworthy than a 95 year old man dying, dont you think? i mean, each person has what is important to them in their own version of reality, and hold whats dear them.

The person I worked with was given support and the employer sent someone in to explain the condition to colleagues.. ... It was a very positive thing... My friends work with the person still.... My point being the person doesn't have a lesser jib, but is treat as an equal, with a few adjustments...

" and thats good, but its an all too infrequent thing, even in todays society where people are still shunned as being 'mental'. V's son has a lot of support at college, as said, is doing brilliantly, even compared to 'normal' kids, he is top of most of his classes. have always said, when you have a condition, you cna either use it as an excuse to not do anything, or use it as a reason to prove everyone you arent so different afterall, and famous people being diagnosed with different conditions, outside of paralympians and so on, will always get a big thumbs up from me
