pissing cat!!

Just came home and was in the bathroom when my 14 year old cat comes in and goes under the bath (my dad has taken the front off for some reason) and proceeds to piss the longest piss ever right at the very back!! I have no clue how to clean it up or why he did it.

Is he going senile do you think? I'm not relishing having a litter tray again as they stink and there is no where in the flat I can put it where it you won't be able to smell it.

I could kick him out all day but that seems mean plus he has against of just bashing cat flaps in if he wants in

Has she got cystitis ? Have you changed her food or altered things in the house ? Stress can cause it & then they keep weeing until it clears up !

I use the crystal litter. I get it from home bargains cos it's cheaper there. It's designed to be down for a couple of weeks and it really does work. You take the poo out daily and the crystals absorb the pee and the smell.

Yeah we use this too very good, although when kitties old enough it will be getting kicked out to pee! At the moment, he's driving me insane, climbing up to the TOP of my Christmas tree!

if he don't usually pee in the house im guessing its because its a new area he has never been in before, he's left his make and the chances are he wont do it again, put a cork up it though just incase

When he was a kitten both him and hos brother found a way into the artificial stone fireplace in the dining room (classy!!!) and dis a lot of pooping and weeing in there. We didn't find it till we took the fireplace down. Bleurgh!!!

my old cat was diabetic and started to wee behind the back of the TV when she was about 15/16 years old. she did it on and off for a few months and then stopped, the vet put it down to the start of dementia.

my friends cat did it as well, she had the feline version of cystitis and was put on medication which helped.

good luck x

Cat update. Went to feed them this morning and one of them had wee'd in the cat bowl!!! I am presuming it's the older male as he was the one that wee'd under the bath. Will have to take him to the vets I think.

Just rememberd last night we went out to a new restaurant. It was a bit of a showy off place and there was a woman with a fur coat draped over the back of her partners chair. Well I did a double take because this fur looked just like one of our little kitties - a tortoiseshell. I thought we'd been followed

Do you feed him dry food? A lot of male cats get problems urinating when they get older if they are eating dry food, and when they get problems peeing they often start peeing in strange places.

No. They have had wet food for a few years now after they refused to eat any more dry food lol

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I feel like I jinxed your cat to pee somewhere after asking yesterday.

At least it was somewhere accessible and not your bed (which is where my old cat decided was the best place to pee in her last few months).
