You can fall in love with the idea of someone I suppose

But whether or not they live up to that expectation is another matter.

I think its possible to fall in love with the impression someone has given you of themselves, whether that is a true representation of reality is open to question.

If they have been 100% truthful and honest, I'd say "yes" to your question.

"Is it possible to fall in love with someone you have never met? "

The word isn't love, its lust,

you see someones eyes, smile, and feel as if you have known them all your life

,

your gut feeling steps in and tells you, you have found your soulmate,

which is what your head wants to hear,

Very quickly you chat, email, text, and maybe go on to talk, everything sounds perfect, the love of your life....

It is exciting, safe, and then you plan to meet,

Then it starts. I am working, the hamster has a cold, my car is broken, my nan just died, the kids are here,

You have been duped, many wanks later, you start making excuses and compromise for the person you " love ", because you love them.

The internet is brilliant for safe sex and cheap no effort sex.

Remember until you meet nothing is real.

There are many types of love,

The love you speak of is about time, and effort, not about imagination.

Even when you have met a certain someone, and he has the charm to make you "fall in love" then find out a year down the line, they have always been married and fabricated themselves a make believe world.

He spent more time with me,than with his wife........work that out, because I can't!

No one can make you fall in love, it has to be something you are looking for, the guy picks that up, and tells you what you want to hear, to get what he wants.

everyone has the right to do what they want to do, within the law. We all have different morals and standards.

The secret is to separate the wheat from the chaff, and only believe what you know is true.

You build them up to be perfect. Everything they say is either pant wetting funny or so deep and meaningful.

Then you meet and he doesn't look quite like his picture , but who cares your in love. Shortly after he becomes exactly who promised he wouldn't be.

You fall in love with an idea. The reality is never as good as what's in your head.

Can you think you have fallen in love...?Yes

Can you actually fall in love...? No, not until you actually know them.

Be my guest...

All I am saying is for example:

You spend months talking online, finally meet to discover they snore like a train. Which means you can not sleep in the same bed because say... Your a light sleeper.

Or you discover that the two darling angels you have been told all about online are the two children from hell.

Those are just two things that can seriously jeopardise a relationship that sprang to mind. There's a tonne of others.

well, can obviously only talk from personal experience.

as said, we chatted for a month before we even came face to face.

we chatted like old friends and by the time we actually met up we felt we knew each other, so much so, that first date night she got so d*unk she spent the night puking and pissing herself, and that really didnt put me off at all lol

her kids were exactly how she said they were.

the ONLY thing she didnt tell me about her, was she doesnt put the toilet roll on the holder the proper way, but she is learning lol.

and i was honest with her, s there is absolutely no point in lying to people you are going to meet, hopefully more than once, so we started off properly.

can see where one or other party isnt completely straight down the line, it can go wrong, but thats down to them, not the premise of love without meeting

People can be more open online than in real life. So you can discuss more things than would have ever been discussed if you'd met in person.

I know a few people that fell in love online and are still happy 10+ years on. I know people that met in real life that didn't last a year.

Anything is possible.

That sounds like everything fell into place just perfect for you guys.

(However toilet rolls on the wrong way round is a serious issue!).

I can see how you can feel like you know someone really well and be totally comfortable around someone when you first meet. I guess a lot of it depends on everyone's definition of what love is which is also individual to everyone.

I still don't see how you can know all of those personal little intricacies that people have until you have spent a lot of time with them.

I know for years I used to think I knew D inside out and couldn't love her any more. Then the following year I'd think I never knew what I was talking about previously and now I actually loved her as much as was possible and so on and so on and so on. For years lol.

(The toilet roll battle is an ongoing one in our house as well. Though now I think she does it purely because she knows it pushes my ocd buttons!)
