"I normally run at the gym but the air con is bust and it's sooooo bloody hot in there it's basement level and no windows etc. so I'm considering going running outside tomorrow. I've found a great route along the seafront and back that is 6 miles which is close to the 10k I'm aiming for. Questions is what do I wear?? I've only got thin 3/4 length running trousers that are quite thin, do I wear a hoody or will I be warm enough in a long sleeve running top once I get going?? " 3/4 lengths should be fine, once you start running and get your heart rate up you'll soon warm up. I'd suggest a light hoody and t-shirt should be good. I use them and after the first 5 minutes i tend to be fine though once you stop running you will cool down quickly so make sure you time your run to finish close to home & dont have more than 1 rest stop for longer than 2 minutes else you will feel the cold | |||

"Invest in some baselayers, you may suffer with shin splints but they disappear after a while Can't beat running along a sea front" Shin splints don't disappear, and they're a symptom of something more serious Running on pavement IS harder than a treadmill so take it easy. Make sure your shoes are right for your feet - Try and get a gait analysis done at a good running shop. Wear layers. A short sleeve and a long sleeve top should suffice as you soon generate your own body heat. Three quarter leggings should be fine too, unless the weather gets really bad. If it is cold then gloves are essential and maybe a hat. Lightweight jackets stop the wind but may make you sweat more .... Aldi have had a really good range of running clothes in and there may be some left at your local store Do you listen to music ? Don't wear inner ear phones/ noise cancellation buds .... As you'll need to be aware of what's going on around you. Try an "old style" set of phones but they may wiggle a bit if they get sweaty Most of all enjoy yourself Been out myself this morning. In just shorts and long sleeve top. The sun is out and it was lovely and fresh | |||

" It really depends on the weather you have tomorrow and it depends on your body type to when you run in the past are you the type that gets hot and sweats very quick or does it take u a while to warm up I myself run with two tops on and a wind beaker and running bottoms as I want to get warm and hot quickly to sweat more gets the muscles to the best temp so they warm better so I say see what the weather is doing before run | |||

Running outdoor is harder and you are likely to struggle with pace judgement. What to wear is trial and error. But as a starting point too much is better than too little. Layers are your friend and a base layer that wicks sweat is tge most important. | |||

It really depends on the weather you have tomorrow and it depends on your body type to when you run in the past are you the type that gets hot and sweats very quick or does it take u a while to warm up I myself run with two tops on and a wind beaker and running bottoms as I want to get warm and hot quickly to sweat more gets the muscles to the best temp so they warm better so I say see what the weather is doing before run " Im not sure whether I am misreading this bit how does sweating more warm up muscles? I'll be honest I have seen countless theories on warming up over the years but lots of clothes and sweating is a new one on me! | |||

My family used to have a caravan to the south of Aberaeron so ive walked many of the cliff paths from there down to Newquay. Beautiful place. Only walked inland once that I can recall, am I right in thinking their is a river path that goes towards a national trust property? | |||

A place called Llanerchaeron The path runs along the river and the old railway track. I'm very lucky that there's plenty of lovely scenery and wildlife to look at when I'm out and about. | |||

"Well that was rubbish!! Only did 2k running then walked back to my house wore a longsleeve top but was way too hot. My ankle really hurt ans so did my left nipple. Have had a cold recently so not been doing any exercise at all but need to get back on it!! Might try again this afternoon. " Don't try again. Listen to your body! And if you want to do something go for a walk or similar. | |||
