Woke up this morning with swollen gums around my back molar, assuming I've got something stuck down there. I've jabbed it with toothpicks and pins to try and get it out, taken some ibuprofen to reduce the swelling and rinsed my mouth out with TCP.

Still bloomin' hurts except now my tea tastes disgusting as well!

O o O oo

You could have an abcess, so poking it won't help !!

The dentist will sort you out.

A world of my own

Nowt worse than toothache, go to dentist if its no better, as its been said its could be an abscess and you'll need antibiotics.

Definatly need to see the dentist, sounds like you probably need a course of antibiotics too, to clear the infection.

Well its happened before and I usually manage to sort it out. My gums have been a bit crap in that particular area since I had my wisdoms out.

Thanks for the concern though. If it gets bad I'd go the dentist. Hence the reason for the TCP, if it is infected that should keep it well at bay!

Try crushing a paracetamol and packing the tooth until you get to the dentist. Works wonders for the short term.

TCP won't clear an infection up if its already raging away, which it sounds as though it is

You need antibiotics Nino,if you can;t get to the dentist for some your GP can do a prescripion for you

I'm fine with the dentist, well the one back home anyway (not so keen on the Leicester one!). Despite the fact I had my wisdoms out whilst awake in the chair, and they had to cut 2 of them in half in my mouth before taking them out, and one of them needed 3 rounds of injections before I was numb!

I was quite a picture after that, dribbling everywhere, lol

try dabbing some clove oil on the infected area. It will numb the pain instantly. Its taste horrible but works. Then get to the dentist

Get to the dentist now hun, you don't want to be suffering over the weekend. Clove oil is very short term and tends to numb everything except the area you want it too. If it's an abcess it can be apretty deep routed infection and depending where it's situated can cause swelling that may affect your breathing. So bite the bullet and get it sorted hun.
