There is probably an explanation involving genetics, location and available food sources. There are a large group of people in Norfolk with a structure to a none in their foot found nowhere else in the world, this is put down to that part of Norfolks inaccessibility meaning that genetically that characteristic became probounced and common.....maybe its a similar explanation.
