"joyland " Sounds like an old Eastern Block theme park, with attractions like the Leninist-Trotsky Rollercoaster, or Worker's Wurlitzer

"a Stephen king one, it's got a weird name. and raising steam. and another horror with a weird name lol Just finished 'Raising Steam' Don't ruin it lol. but was it good?" Its a fair read but found it similar to 'Night Watch' inasmuch it is a good story rather than a typical Discworld story. (if that makes sense?)

"grrm? and patchett might have Alzheimer's but his books are still amazing. it'll be so sad when he can't write anymore. Oh and James Herbert is dead. he died this year" I like James Herbert. Shame there will be no more.

"Read Lestat, then Steven king. Isn't he dead now? Im sure I heard it on the news... No just blind. it's bothering me now I can't remember the name" He's not actually blind. He has inherited a genetic trait which may, at some point, cause him to become blind.

"I've not read much of his recent work. I lost interest for a while when they all seemed to get very samey . If he's got his mojo back then that's all to the good. " I lost interest in SK for years, then picked 11/22/63 up cheap in The Works...brilliant book, equally as good, if not better, than some of his classics!

"Im halfway through Brian Lumley's Necroscope series" I enjoyed them, but felt that he was taking the piss in later books. The actual Whampyrii seemed to be one trick characters and he was inventing psychic abilities at random. However, the earlier books were enjoyable.
