Well what a frigging day. Had pre arranged meet with dwp today as got letter other week querying a pension i receive on top of my jsa.

I have letter from.them thanking me for providing the information last year. They are saying despite this i have been overpaid for over 12 months in effect if they get their way i will be deducted fifty quid a week yes a week.

I have spoke with solicitor as will be appealing decision once i get it in writing. End of day unlikely to get anywhere as there is permitted income level which i have gone over even though they have the info based on the letter they acknowledged.

I am not arguing against paying what is due but this should have been sorted last year.

My sister had this problem. She gave the tax credits the exact amount her hubby earned in 2011 and was told how much her tax credits would be, he earned the exact same amount in 2012 but she was told she had been overpaid and has to pay it back, which left her with nothing this year. She's not even bothering claiming it next year!!

Sorry to hear that thing is they fuck up peoples lives through their incompetence.

I had it a few years back when I used to get child tax credits, sent them all my wage slips off, bank statements, P60 etc everything they asked for to asses how much I would get, then one day out the blue I got a letter telling me they had been over playing me for the last 3 and a half years and wanted nearly £4000 back which I had to pay straight away or they was passing my bill over to a debt recovery agency where I would accrue even more costs

I don't qualify for tax credits anymore and to be honest I'm glad as you don't seem to get anything for nothing and id sooner just not get it than have to pay it back like that because of their miss calculations
