are a bunch of t****rs!! .... excuse my 'French'

Am due a rebate...I know this because the folks who deal with my tax have told me it is more than they are allowed to repay through my paypacket.

I wrote to HMRC to ask for refund....did they cough up...oh no....they put me onto an emergency tax code instead!!

2 Months later I have had a letter from the gits informing me my tax code has been corrected, and that I should contact my HR dept to see if I am due a refund???????

Am I missing something here (beside my refund)....

Last time I was due a substantial refund I had to raise a court action before they coughed up.....am so hoping I do not have to faff around and do that again

Oh....they make me so mad I could stamp on a flower!!!!!

I hope the system sends the cheque today.

It was set up within a week when they were born!

I also had to send off their birth certificates and proof of what school they're attending too. And they'll only back date it a month, not the three that it takes them to alter a couple of details on a computer!

Fucking bureaucratic bullshit like this pisses me off.

They're all fast enough to take money when it's owed to them but when it's the other way around you practically do have to start court action.

I did exactly that last time, cheque arrived within a week of my sending them the Writ

Was only £90 to raise the action, that was only a very small percentage of what I was claiming.

Do not know how much it costs to raise an action in England, but if nothing heard by end of the week then I shall be drafting my action to submit to court here.....they just makes my blood boil...there is no joined up thinking in these big government bodies

Quite a while since I had problems with the tax man but unless the rules have changed dont forget that if the claim takes more than a year (financial) to resolve you are entitled to interest on the money they owe you...

Informing them that you will be reclaiming full costs plus interest on the owed amount seems to get their interest! Maybe it effects their bonuses...LoL!

We had them take money we were owe them last year when the hubby moved in with me because they screwed up my Child Tax , they even had the cheek to try and take another made up £800 they just pulled out of nowhere. dirty, greedy, robbing crooks. they can get money off us quick enough yet when a massive corp owes them billions in tax, they do nothing about it

HMRC's job is to get more money in than it hands back. There'll be times of the year when that's more important than other times.

Our daughter was born 12yrs ago. We filled all the forms in and some 3 months later got notified how much money we were due to get. Very nice, or so we thought. A friend of ours said she'd got much less money for her daughter who was born on the same day as ours. We duly contacted the taxman and said we thought we were being over paid. No they said, we are right and you are getting correct money. Okay, no problem.

THREE YEARS later we got a letter to say we were overpaid from day 1 and we owed them LOTS of money, and that we should send them a cheque for the sum due. After many letters to and fro, they said they would recover through tax code, this was another year down the line. Then they eventually wrote again to say that we would not receive any more money but instead of paying us they would withhold payments and credit to the deficit account to pay off THEIR original cock up. So we presumed that was it.

5 months ago we got a letter saying we still owed them the original alleged overpayment and they wanted us to settle up front!!!! Bearing in mind that our daughter is now 12 years old and we've been getting nothing at all from the taxman, they've been withholding money to supposedly pay off their mistake. That's one letter that went straight in the bin. Sod 'em. They fucked up originally so they can whistle for any money we allegedly owe.

The brewery is safe, their stocks will last forever because the taxman couldn't organize a piss up there!!

Luke gets a rebate every year!

Doesn't have to request it or even get it touch with HMRC!

I received a rebate too this year!! What a lovely surprise that was again didn't have to contact them
