"I've got quite a few 'phone calls to make this morning, and a prescription to collect and a surgery to register at. It's hours until any of them open and I'm bored. I tried reading but it made my headache worse. I tried watching Jeremy Kyle but it's not a patch on Jerry Springer. Kyle is more obnoxious than his guests and there was no fisticuffs. At least not in the 5 minutes I watched. I've had breakfast. I've had coffee. I could do more unpacking and sorting out but I'm really not in the mood for that yet. I need to be able to put music on for that really. I don't know what to do with myself now. I need to do something or I'm likely to have dozed off by the time anywhere is open, (I got no sleep). I'm not good at waiting. Does anyone have any tips? Sex " If only. I'm all on my lonesome and it's just not the same with toys.

I only meet after a social meet and even then not at my place, not until I've met them a few times and trust them. Nice idea but common sense wins.

"Just relax...I'm in the middle of doing my flat up but can't get the power tools out until 9ish out of respect to neighbours... got to recess some surface-mounted electrical fittings into the walls so using a powerful SDS is out of the question. Been up since three thirty and like yourself itching to get on but used the time to clean kitchen and put some new table lamps together and assemble etc a new BT answerphone so time not wasted." Ooh I have a wine rack to put together. As long as it's not going to require "persuading", (otherwise known as application of a hammer), I ought to be able to do that. I'm envious of you having a drill to play with - although an SDS would be major overkill for what I need. Mine broke last month* and I've not been able to replace it yet. I never realised just how often I used it. *I may well have killed it using it for something I should have used a hammer drill for.

"write some notes for your phone calls " I already have a list of whom I have to call. I don't need notes because none of it is complicated, even though I'll probably spend more time on hold than actually speaking to anyone. Heck I'll probably spend more time pressing 1 to get annoyed or 2 to be really fed up than actually talking to anyone.

"***have you any wine to put in the rack? " Yep. And three bottles of champagne. I don't drink much, and almost never alone, so anything I'm given tends to last a while.

That's pretty much my ecperience..the first house I bought I arranged for a friend of my mother to wallpaper the lounge. He didn't show so didn't contact him and did it myself. Was working as an accountant at the time but since got qualifications in building carpentry electrics plumbing painting and decorating etc and got out of a desk job.
