For such a drastic measure to hapoen the courts must have sanctioned it and the welfare of the child must have been the priority.

Without knowing all the facts we can only guess and i always look beyond the headlines.

SS are often dammed if they do, dammed if they don't.

I guess the experts decided it being the correct course of action.

I hope the wee one has a great life

One side of the story.....and reported in such a way to sell papers.

Social Services can't and don't take any action without a good reason to, and anything that involves such drastic action will have to be evidenced and justified in a court of law with a judge making the final decision....not the social worker!!

Glasgow

The council had a High Court order.

It rather seems social services departments are going to extreme lengths to cover their arses just in case something goes wrong.

An overreaction to previous bad publicity?

drastic to you or not.

im guessing you would be the first up in arms if the baby had been born, she had an episode and drowned the kid.

'where we social services? they obviously knew the child was in danger and didnt do anything about it'

i can see it now.

how many threads have been on here about kids being hurt or killed and its often complained that SS dont act quickly enough.

well, damned if you do, damned if you dont

Why do people always get up in arms about some sensational headlines? Nobody but the parties involved know the exact details. Just give it a rest. Sheeesh.

sometimes what seems like drastic action, has a history, there are 2 ways to give birth, the safest way was chosen, by professionals who knew the case and reasons. If she was made to abort her baby, that would of been drastic.
