Does anyone know of any good pubs/bars to go to in York ?

Going in a couple of weeks with a few mates, last time we went the main bars wouldn't let groups of guys in for some reason.

Depends what your type of pub is, some lovely historic and haunted places that sell real ale x

Evil eye bar..... good for cocktails and very quirky, though does get packed

Titz Towers, North Notts

There's a pub that does nice grub. It's off a main shopping street, down a yard, down a flight of stairs and is underground. It's a bit of a cross between a wine cellar, rejected location for SawVIII and a bomb shelter. Does nice food, though

Truro

The Yorkshire Terrier is worth a visit. We always drop in when we're in York. There's a decent pub on the quayside too that brews their own beer and it's very cheap too
