As a satisfying career, which one do you reckon would be the best? In another life I would have joined the RN, but I quite like the idea of playing soldiers to. (no disrespect ment there to soldiers on the front line).

dont think there is much satisying about a career in the forces.

obviously my personal opinion and it is in no way meant as a detriment to anyone currently serving.

i just feel that fighting other peoples wars and doing something you may well feel is completely wrong would tear me apart inside, especially as whatever you do leads to the loss of life, both comrades and 'the enemy'.

would much rather be a nurse or doctor than serve in any of the forces.

Some people wouldn't cut it as a royal marine commando, some wouldn't be suited to the army, some wouldn't be suited to the RAF.

When thinking of "playing soldiers" remember war is not to be taken lightly, its brutal, nasty and leaves lasting effects both physically and emotionally, I don't think anyone who enters a career in the Armed Forces leaves unscathed.

Having said that I support those who take their duty to their country seriously.

Having said that it can also be a rewarding career in many ways.

respect your opinion but what is the first sentence based, doesn't sound like personal experience ..

accept I could be wrong..

regarding the satisfaction element, there are tens of thousands of successful folk who served and have gone on to adapt to and enjoy 'civvie' street..

a lot of whom one becomes post service is entirely part of the life skills one develops when in..

for myself I could never do nursing so if that's your profession the fair play..
