The actor, who played Bodie in the cult 1970s TV series, alongside Martin Shaw, died in Los Angeles after a five-year struggle with cancer.

His agent said: "He died peacefully at his LA home surrounded by his family. Privacy is asked for at this very sad time."

Absolutely gutted by this news. We were just talking about him only yesterday.

He was also in the British action film Who Dares Wins and we got married in the house where it was just shot, just the other month.

Always the nicer of the two (Martin Shaaw is a very grumpy serious actor) he was effectionate about his time on the professionals and spoke of it fondly, where as Shaw always refused to discuss it, even though it founded his career.

He will be well remembered in this house.

Brighton - even Hove!

He was also really good in Judge Deed. I think I'll give some money to cancer research.

Martin Shaw was in Judge John Deed, Lewis Collins was the one without the curly mullet.

We just saw Martin Shaw in 12 Angry Men, his performance was somewhat underwhelming, great show otherwise though.
