If u receive a message and u don't like person etc do u still send message bk? It gets to me when u put effort to sending a message and people just delete it doesn't take much to just say sorry not my type etc.. ahhhh another rant

Nope, I don't reply if I'm not interested.

Imagine getting 60 messages a day. Why should I have to reply to them all? 9/10 it results in a message back from the sender asking for reasons why not etc etc..

We are all on here for our own reasons and our own desires. If that person doesn't meet what I'm after, why do I have to reply? Do you message people you aren't interested in? -nope.

The worst part is deleting a message then getting a torrent of abuse from the sender for daring to delete their message?! To me, that just confirms my reasons for deleting it in the first place. Why on earth would I want to meet someone who sends abuse because I don't want to meet them?!

We reply. But but not always.

So many people on here can not only type, but can't even read. We get a LOT of bald written, short two word or so messages... Yet just get deleted. I mean, if a guy contacts us and just says "I wana fuk yous"... Does that wen need a reply?

However...

A lot of people CAN form a decent question and will ask in a nice way, showing a friendly side to them. If they are still not why we want, we say thank you, reply in a nice way, but tell them they are just not what we are looking for.

A lot of people will though just delete your message even if it is nice or written well, because there's a lot of egos an things about... Don't even think on it. You're one in 7 billion people. There's more fish in the sea just keep swimming! C xx

Sadly we can't tell who is going to just accept a no thanks and who is going to become a cunt so it's easier to just ignore. You can see if the message has been read. If you don't get a reply then assume they are not interested.

if its a well written, well thought out message, then even if its no we always reply.

if its a generic 'throw it out there and hope' message, then no, it gets deleted.

I try a message back that steers towards the fact we're incompatible before another straight out saying it, however im never gonna draw the levels of attention some users do so cant criticise how they react.

Do what i do. I delete the sent message after i've sent it. That way you don't get hung up whether it's read, deleted or used to wipe her ass!

Just take a deleted message to mean 'thanks but no thanks'!

you cant win either way, my wife jade said no to a couple(the guy id say) who wanted her to meet them alone to act out a fantasy. so they spat the dummy out and got a bit snide then asked if she was surgically enhanced...i sent anymore of that and id meet them and surgically enhance his arse with a pool cue lol...then they sent a friend request

I don't check to see if anyones read my messages that often and I guess people delete them as to not clog up their inbox.

I very rarely initiate contact so can't really contribute except to say that the forum FAQ says that not replying is not considered rude. People get so many messages, including bald ones, that they don't have time to answer each one. When they do, they get replies of why?

Don't sweat it and move on....

It depends on the message and whether the sender clearly doesn't match what I am looking for.

My profile says I won't meet smokers so I won't waste my time replying to smokers who message me.

My profile also says I dislike textspeak and am not inspired by one line messages so most of those go in the bin too.

Polite messages from people I just don't fancy usually get a reply but not always. Sometimes I just don't feel like writing replies. Just because someone decided to message me (when it suited them) doesn't make me duty bound to reply, and if I do, I'll do it when it suits me.

As for rudeness, you choose when to message. Is it not rather rude to expect a reply according to a timescale that suits you? Maybe I'm really busy, or unwell as you're complaining about not getting a reply.

I never used to reply, but I now send a cut and paste, to those that have taken the time to write, if I am not interested. I don't reply to the 'fancy a fuck' mails, they go in the bin automatically. I can usually tell from those first 10 or so words, what's worth opening.

You soon get wise to the mails that have been sent to anyone with a pulse. I know for guys its a pain in the rectum, to keep sending mail. I find that my cut & paste 9/10 gets a thank you in reply, where as when I use to not reply after reading, I'd find I would get more questions asked, then finding myself having to explain, why I wasn't interested. Which is not who I am, so needless to say, this works a treat for me.

Technically yes but also technically no.

I've sent mail before and didn't get a reply for 2 days because she had a bogged down inbox, when she did reply however I ended up meeting her that was a while ago and she has now left the site.

I have also sent messages and not had a response for several days.

I don't, however, repeatedly send the same the message, and when I don't get a reply at all (which has also happened) I do not message again with:

"Why the fuck didn't you answer me".

No reply is not always an answer it could also be, I'll answer you later or when I have an answer to give. I use the word "could" because this does not always apply..which should be obvious if any guys are reading this.

Yes we advertise for specific guys. I just wish that the guys that mostly message us (straight) would read our advert. If they did they wouldn't bother messaging us and they wouldn't get a block and delete reply.

I don't reply to them all. If the first few words that can be seen before you open the message indicate it is of the "wanna fuck" (no question mark!) type then I ignore. If the username is one of those that put me off ("master4slut" etc.) then I ignore. I reply to the ones that have something of interest, even if it is a no.

The no response has elicited "fat, ugly, old bitch no wonder you are single" type responses and worse. The ignored/deleted messages have elicited further messages asking what they have to do to get a response and the "far, ugly, old bitch" messages too. Then they get blocked after I send a message telling them why I had no interest in them.

I didn't say anyne has to reply to messages. I take my deleted mail/not replied as a 'no thank you'! All i said was that you can't compare receiving junk mail through your letter box, to receiving mail on here.

Anyone who joins the site and has a profile should expect messages. Whether they answer them or not is up to them.

Genius! Suggest it then. Or, a rule that means as soon as you read a message it will either self destruct or you have to reply within 5 minutes of reading.

I try to answer any messages I receive politely and so far I've not had any nasty comeback. Most are just grateful that I at least replied even if its a no thank you. I don't get nasty unless someone is nasty to me. X
