Wondered if any other fabsters did this ?? Its a group on Yahoo ( localised to your area )

You can list up things you no longer need and pass them on ( free ) to those more in need

You can also post up things you might want ?

We think its great and has a real good feel factor that you have helped someone less fortunate

have used it in the past.

gave a cooker away.

however, the recipient didnt even say thank you, so dont bother any more.

why should i be kind if gratitude isnt expressed.

would rather see someone go without and send something to the tip (harsh but true)

Yeh can see that, most people have been very grateful with us so not experienced that, we try and gauge the sort of person from the emails and try and pass it to the more worthy if you get what we mean

absolutely.

and the person that got it was a young mum with her first flat.

i believe in paying forward, and my old dear gave me their old cooker, so i thought i would do the same.

i remember when i started out on my own and would have loved help with things, but im grateful for everything i get, not everyone else is though

Pay it forward ! Great film ! It is a shame when people are like that. We have had a pretty good experience though and some very grateful people

I can see what you mean.. In a loosely related way, it used to annoy me when drivers wouldn't acknowledge when is give them way..

But in recent times, I made a decision that doing something good is its own reward...and I choose to try to be influenced by the good that people do...as far as I am able to, at least.

And Freegle too.

Everyone I've gifted to/ had items from have been great.

However our local group has descended into one person constantly asking for stuff so I'm probably going to leave it.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

I have used it in the past but I got fed up with the Wanted requests and the attitudes of some people. Asking for essentials is one thing but frequent (daily or every other day) saying things like "Wanted: iPhone for my son. Must be the latest model or he'll get bullied at school" is taking the piss. Also "my child broke their (expensive game console or similar and I can't afford to replace it and they are so sad"... should have been more careful then. Call it an essential life lesson for them.

If someone chooses to list such things, though I don't see why they would, that's different but for numerous people to keep asking put me right off. It's not in the spirit of the original idea.

Its such a shame when people take advantage or ruin it for others, from what we gather the admin can remove people from the group if they are prolific posters.

Have seen some people asking for ridiculous things though lol !!
