Christmas trees??

What do you have?

I usually have a fake one but I'm tempted by a real one this year although that will mean more sweeping and I barely sweep now as it is lol

The smell of a real one is amazing, and its not so hard to clear up.

I try and recall the fun has around it while clearing it away, it causes me to it with a smile (and the tidying up)!!

Doing Christmas Day on my own so why bother with decorations, shall be spending Boxing Day with kids at my sisters and she'll have decorations up, that's that sorted then.

Although I suspect the kids will want to see some decorations. I try and wait til after my sons birthday on the 19 th though. Seems only fair.

Fake tree..

Real tree, loads of hairspray and electric lighting = wayyy to much of a fire hazzard for my liking.

Not to say that a fake one wont go up in smoke btw.. just have it in my head theres more risk with a real one after seeing some videos on facebook

I don't have a tree because I hate to kill a tree just for Christmas. What I do instead is gather fallen branches from Birch trees and sometimes spray them white, or leave them natural, bundle them together in a decorative bucket and hang all my lights and decorations on them, its like a winter wonderland when I turn the room lights off

I got a cheap fake one when the cats were kittens cos I wasn't sure if they'd try to climb it or destroy it. It turned out to be a lovely tree so has come out every year for the last 13 years!

I love a real tree but since they eat houseplants I think a real one would be tempting fate so stick with the falsie.

Other than the tree and a couple of glass ornaments on the mantel the only other decs I do are my stocking and the advent calendar and cards. How many go for the full works with streamers and tinselly things hanging from the ceiling?

Real, real, real!!! We have a fake one too, but that's just for the conservatory.

Nothing beats the smell of a real Christmas tree. Neither my parents nor my ex would let me have one so when Hubby said I could the first year we were together, I knew he was the one .

Fake a lot less messing. Apart from me almost killing myself getting it down from the loft. Every sodding year.

Yeah I agree. Think I might go gather some of the fallen branches from local woods today myself and try it with the kids. Give us something different to do.
