I run a small online radio station only plays rock music. do people actually use the net for music or do they just listen to youtube allday, my station has a lot of regular listeners and just wondered what most do for music these days as long gone are the days of swapping cassettes and cds

In Your Bush

I've always wondered how radio stations calculate how many listeners they have?

"I've always wondered how radio stations calculate how many listeners they have?"

They have devices which detects "Tune ins" I don't what that device is.

TV Shows can do the same thing aka TV Ratings is done by amount of viewers per se.

They use a system like shoutcast ..so when someone logs to your station their IP address counts as a listener. but if there are more then 1 person in the house tuned in on more then one device it only registers 1 person, the big stations rely on poles to see whos tuned to what etc same as they used to do the charts as far as I know
