London

Before anyone posts about the British Army death squads in the early 1970s in Belfast.. Please read the ARRSE NAAFI forums where the author of the book which Panorama and the daily mail have sensationalised normally posts.

Today's ARRSE posts have been quite interesting and elightiening

i am not defending the British forces in NI however before people judge what they watched on panorama tonight remember they were different times to what we live in now.

the terrorists they were fighting against were bloody minded and ruthless and were happy to live by the sword.

i am not condoning what happened to innocent bystanders.

watch storyville - the dissappeared

its chilling.

before anyone rips into me my mothers side of the family are from eire, on the border.

the nature of any conflict such as the 'troubles' (never understood the term even when over there)is that all the rules and regs set down are well meant but get blurred, distorted or ignored..

you don't defeat terrorism by acting like a terrorist..

unfortunately the terms of the conflict was set by others first not the British forces and when defeat is not an option for the government of the day or the MOD then sometimes tactics are a reaction to events or acts by the opposition on any given day.

Storyville - The Dissappeared

Jean McConville

A mother of seven children who was taken from her home in front of her children, for the provisional IRA to execute her in 1972 and then bury her body on a beach in eire, and all because she gave aid to a wounded british is beyond comprehension to me.

her murder like countless others are not being investigated.

the belfast commander at the time of her death was none other than Mr G Adams yet he is not being investigated.

are we to accept him as a politican however condemn our own, im sorry i cannot.

until there is equal sway given to all parties then the acts of the past will never be admitted to and therefore they can never be accepted in the present.

south Africa managed it.
