If you needed the cash, would you take the risk of not knowing how the drugs might react with your body.

I would be amazed if anyone other than the financially desperate, the terminally ill, and insane people volunteered.

50 percent of them are placebos so if the money was right I'd give it a bash in the interest of medical science. I am far from financially insecure, terminally I'll ( to my knowledge ) and I'd like to think I'm as sane as the next person

Im glad that people take part in these trials,that they assist in the research to cure disease and help relieve symptons of long term and debilitating conditions

Would I do it? no! Not after the catastrophe a few yrs ago at Northwick Park

When my Daughter was born with massive complications I was offerd the chance to sign up to a trial or have the ameoba (if thats the correct word, basically saline solution).

Thankfully she must of had the drug and it worked wonders (she made a 99% recovery) for her and due to her and others Im sure the drug has been a huge success.

It was through pure desperation/nothing to lose that I agreed in the first place

I am on a medical trial which does not pay. I am doing it as I believe that the research will be beneficial to myself and others in the long run.

If I was terminal I would because I would have nothing to lose but could gain! Wouldn't do it for money

Yes I would. Especially if it was one which could cure Endometriosis.

I understand the risks, but I think that if we are going to move forward in medical sciences then there needs to be people willing to volunteer.

I did take part in a medical trial which was originally for 3 years but was extended for seven. It was to monitor the effects of high levels (80mg) of simvastatin in the treatment of blood pressure. 50 % were on placebos 50 in the drug

At end of trial we were able to find out which we had been on. I had been on the simvastatin n am still on 80 mg today 5 years later

It wouldn't be about the cash. If I believed it could/ would help advance medical science, I'd give it a go.

I've left my body to the anatomists but they can't guarantee to take it - all down to storage space at the time you die apparently.

I actually had endocarditis.

Plus being bipolar if an opportunity came along to be part of a medical trial for a new generation of anti-psychotic with less side effects than the one I take now I would not hesitate to volunteer!
