I remember going for my first blood test I cried like a child (I was about 19) before the nurse even touched me.

I am better now and can watch once the needle is in but after 2 bottles I start going faint lol.

My aim is to one day give blood.

Little pricks scare me x

I have deep, well padded veins and have had to memorize where a good one is to avoid thenurses jJust wiggling the needle around hoping go hit one lol

I keep joking that I'm going go get an X marked on there lol

Once the needle is in I'm fine, it's the initial finding the vein and putting it in. I will only have the Phlebotomists do it though or the nurse at my doctors surgery.

I was in A&E once and some stupid cow of a doctor couldn't find my vein so stuck the needle in and wiggled about I nearly jumped up and smacked her one, had already told her I was scared of them. So she got another doctor to treat me who said he wasn't surprised I nearly smacked her.

I have terrible veins and once had them try seven times just to inject 5ml of a tracer into my vein!

They then told me I'd just have to manage without that part of the scan - I told them in no uncertain terms that if they thought I was coming back for them to try again they were deluded and that I wasn't going anywhere till they managed it! Apparently fear is a great motivator cos they managed next try - didn't want to be stuck with me all day!

Mine are so bad and I have to have regular stuff done so I now have a line in. Not only is is quick and easy it's also completely pain free!

I have so many blood tests but when I had my op couldn't find a vein to put my canular in. 30 mins it took them and then it was at an angle in my wrist
