from a full charge how long does your battery last ........... and ..... I just press and hold the power button at the bottom until I get the screen that says turn off screen and touch that to turn it off dont I ???

Battery depends on the kindle. My hd lasts about 3 days but the mrs touch seems to go in for ever. And yeah touch the bit that says off.

there was a label from tesco's on the box, I have managed to peel it off and it says eight weeks with wifi turned off !!! I shall turn that off and see what happens lol

Just had a snoop about this and that 8 week claim is for 30 min use a day with nothing else turned on...

Oh and if it's new and you have a lot of books it does something like index the whole thing so you can look things up which uses a lot of battery power.
