What exactly are you asking?

Are you discussing streaming TV, movies and music etc via wifi? Do you intend to hold the movies etc on a media server and access them on your TV via wifi. Yes this can be done but you will need the client software on your tv or you can use dnla. Mant TV's these days come with dnla already installed.

Not sure if I've answered your question but if you provide further details I'm sure I can give some good advice.

I assume that you want to download moves from such sites as netflix etc. You will be able to do this with a smart TV.

If you would like to dream all your media around your house then you could consider a media server. This could either be a stand alone NAS or you could run media server software on your computer.

Broadcast engineer speaking. Most connected tv's will just require a connection to the outside world. Then, passwords permitting, once you're connected, you're off!

PM me with any specific q's. Can be painful explaining stuff on a forum but I'll gladly help.

I wouldn't bother with WiFi either, Homeplugs are far quicker and aren't bothered about distance and line of sight!

They plug into your home ring mains and turn it into a network. Plug one in near the router and an ethernet cable from the router to the homeplug, then another near to the TV, ethernet cable from the TV into that one, press a button to pair them and away you go. We've got them all over the house, they're dirt cheap now.

Next to our TV, we've got a manager that will take up to 5 ethernet cables and then out to the homeplug, which handles the TV, Sky Box, Media Player and Blu-ray connections.

Home plugs or wi if... It will work either way.

If you're intending to use it to Skype (oh the world of possibilities ) make sure it has a built in web cam (or a reasonably affordable one)

Good luck

As long as they're on the same fuse box they work fine. We're got different circuits upstairs and downstairs, they just use the fusebox as a bridge, I presume?

That's you buggered then, unfortunately! Although I'm sure there's some kind of neat solution.

Amazon/Maplin/Asda/eBay...all the usual places I'd post some links but I don't want yet another holiday!
