I (f) have recently had surgery to have my gallbladder removed and as such have two quite obvious scars and two not so obvious ones, we met with some close friends on friday night who we knew wouldnt take any notice of them because they have known what was happening with me healthwise all along.

i guess my question is this would fresh operation scars bother you? I'm not talking huge scars but smallish ones that are only a couple of cm's in length or would it put you right off?

If they are 'fresh' as you say then probably yes

As long as they are healed and not going to cause any pain then no. I have loads of scars and out of the many I have met, only 2 or 3 have ever mentioned them (and not in a negative way).

If like me, it was done keyhole, they are small and once healed will fade in time.

People who know you and know what's been going on, shouldnt mind at all. If they do, they are not worth meeting.

After my hysterectomy, my first since that op, even kissed the scars from the op. Which I thought was sweet!!! Lol

Depends how recent. Fresh scars, I'd be bothered about hurting the person inadvertently...I was banned from sex for 12 weeks after my hip replacement (although I did meet and play without breaking my hip precautions after 7 weeks) I was convinced when I had my stitches out that my leg was gonna fall open (it didn't)

they are 3 weeks old and two of them are still quite red, but they are healed and quite neat to be fair and yes it was keyhole, i was given a 6 week recovery but felt ready to meet and it went really well no pain or discomfort apart from one postion but it was'nt too drastic, just concerned how people we dont know would feel about them

If you are bothered about their appearance you should be ok to start applying Bio Oil if there are no open or scabbed parts.

No if the skin is closed and unstitched.

Can't you cover them minimally if you are worried? Just a while longer until you feel comfortable with them.
