And would you recommend it? Nearly finished Bring Up the Bodies. Hilary Mantel is an astoundingly good writer and I need to wean myself off of her and look around for someone new.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch, which is the third in his gentleman Bastard series. I would recommend the series to anyone who likes historical fantasy.

The new Terry Pratchett is ok but not as good as Snuff was.

And the new Lee Child Jack Reacher is a bit to much of a page turner cos I couldn't put it down last night and am sleep deprived as a result!

I'm currently reading a vampire novel an Afrikaans friend is writing, based in South Africa.

It's very Clive Barker. She's descriptively brilliant at explaining the condition of vampirism and how senses are heightened above the most supreme hunting animals' instincts.

Sense of smell comes in layers that have to be separated and identified, sense of hearing has to be attuned to a voice, above the thundering of blood circulation, in a room full of people and it's like a heroin addictionn that can't be controlled when blood is nearby.

Not a great read, but very promising for a first draft.

Dark Tower is epic. And did you know it's set in the far far future after the events of The Stand?

I found book 7 was very poor compared to the rest of the series but the follow up books(set during earlier events) were good.

My favourite is still The Gunslinger. Volume 1 lol the Wastelands after that. The rest was hard to follow because quite simply I've had trouble concentrating for long amounts of time over the past 2 years.

I usually have several books on the go at a time; my current favourite is a re-read of 'FEED' by Mira Grant which takes zombies to a totally new level.

Grant has. obviously, thought in and around the subject matter and has come up with an entirely different perspective.

It's set in the not too distant future, has great characters, very plausible and well researched science, ballistics, politics, intrigue and a several twists in each book (I refuse to reveal more) that result in you re-reading what has just been written as it's a 'I don't believe that just happened'.

I guarantee, that if you start reading this book, you will not put it down and you will also have purchased the second and third books in the trilogy ('DEADLINE' & 'BLACKOUT') before you have finished it.

The best zombie book, ever.

Doctor Nasty

The Life of Pi is a great book and like most great books, it raises more questions than it answers.

Just finish 'Sea Harriers over the Falklands' very interesting read, some part I found annoying due to the decisions made.

If you liked the man 'The Flying Scotsman' was a brolliant read, it is about Obree and his cycling career.
