This is not a rant or grammar police, but I was wondering (after reading many many threads) why some people on the forums don't get the difference between "woman" and "women" in the right context?.it just reads very odd at times

Same as any other spelling/grammar mistake I suppose. Some people just don't know the diff and autocorrect won't change it as they are both correctly spelt words

As said before there is no rules to say people have to have perfect grammar and posts or threads commenting on it is putting people off from posting

Maybe just ignore if it annoys.
