Call me old fashioned, but I'd recommend seeing a dentist.

Get an Emergency appointment Today!

If the infection spreads it coupd get into your jaw bone, very serious indeed

Don't mean to be alarmist, but get it seen too!

All the best. Xx

You need to rinse with tepid water with 2 two tsp of salt... This will draw out and remaining pus.

And see a dentist for antibiotics...

I'm on antibiotics for a dental abscess, soon as I come off them it comes back . I'm in for a minor op on the 26th to remove the tooth and clean out of the area. Antibiotics are the only thing will get rid of it and I've tried a lot of home remedies even chewed a few cloves yuk!!!

...Up on the Downs

Hot saline soaks - one teaspoon salt per teacup, top up with hot water but not so hot it hurts at all, about 15 mins a time, 3x a day, and massage it to keep it draining towards the end of the soak time.

And get thee to a dentist for an x-ray and to check if antibiotics are required.

As others say - the hot salt water rinses are incredibly useful. It kills bacteria inside of your mouth.

Particularly if you have any history of heart problems.

Had an absess a number of years ago so know how painful they can be. Its actually less painless to let the dentist sort it than the pain your going through so my advice would be that ...asap. May be of interest to others to have 3 monthly check-ups instead of every 6 months as problems can be spotted sooner. I've been doing this for a few years now and rarely have any problems. The extra £60 is well worth it ......and she's gorgeous

I currently have one and oh my god the pain I've been in is worse than anything I've ever deal with, I went straight to the dentist got antibiotics , took co-dydramol along side ibuprofen .. The pain has gone now, gum very tender and the swelling is coming down thank god.

Hope your soon better

Problem is they can keep filling back up again then end up with your bone being infected and bruised also.......

Dentist is a must !

Removing the tooth is the best option, I used to get them constantly when I had a capped tooth, also popped them awww. I told them I'd had enough and to pull it out. Never had trouble since. X

I had one when I was pregnant and because of this they couldn't give me antibiotics and had to leave it alone

Once I'd had my little boy I ended having to have 3 teeth out

I'd get it looked at asap

I had an abscess last year, an elderly Neighbour made a paste, using turmeric powder, cumin powder and lemon juice.

Applied that on the abscess, and within 10 minutes it burst, instant relief.

Raw garlic !!

Natural antibiotic.3 - 4 cloves a day.

A compress made from charcoal (can get in capsules) will draw the infection.

Works like charm !
