i like cars but i dont like that they go wrong and cost sooooooo much money to fix

my car (Seat Leon 02 reg) has the following wrong with it:

the engine management light is on and has been for some time

the coolant light sometimes beeps 3 times when i start it

the exhaust is loose and bangs when going over bumps

the starter motor over runs and make a horrid noise which makes everyone stare at me

the remote central locking doesnt work

the boot doesnt open

anyone know anymechanics hat do pro bono work???

the engine management light is on and has been for some time MAY NEED RESET AT A GARAGE, IF SO ITS A 2 MIN JOB VIA A EMU MACHINE

the coolant light sometimes beeps 3 times when i start it MAY AGAIN BE A BI PRODUCT OF FAULTY ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT

the exhaust is loose and bangs when going over bumps RUBBERS TO HOLD EXHAUST APPROX 50p EACH IN MOST CAR ACCESSORIES SHOPS

the starter motor over runs and make a horrid noise which makes everyone stare at me STARTER MOTOR MAY JUST NEED CLEANED OUT

the remote central locking doesnt work CHANGE THE BATTERIES

the boot doesnt open FAULTY CONNECTION ON CENTRAL LOCKING

anyone know anymechanics hat do pro bono work??? "

it may not be as bad as it seem, excuse the caps but was just to show the possible simplistic solutions.

keep smiling

Or you put it into a garage for the day, and they say, with much sucking through teeth, "Well an hour for this, an hour for that, an hour to fix the exhaust and an hour for the other thing." That'll be four hours at £60 / hr, = £240 plus batteries, plus VAT.

Those solutions sound reasonable though, so stand over them while they do the work, if you really have to stoop to entrusting your car to a grease monkey. That's where they have you these days though. You have to, with all that electronic crap they all have these days.

Maybe not such a bad idea even with their recent problems. Check out my post from 7 days ago, heading starts, Cars - a bit of good news
