Seen a few posts about favourite bands and musicians recently. Am currently watching Fleetwood Mac Live in Boston, and think Lynsey(Lyndsey?) Buckingham is one of the most underated guitarists/musicians ever. The guitar playing and finger picking on Landslide/Big Love etc is phenominal but he doesn't seem to get a mention is any polls.

Or is it just me that thinks that?

I think thats overated compared to some Bluegrass musicians.

Completely agree - I like Bluegreass etc but my knowledge is very limited. I don't know what's what and who's who to make a 'real' comparisson. I know Steve Martin plays a mean banjo though

Any suggestions on who to look out for/keep an ear out for?

Yeah but a little before my time, don't know much of their music from that era, although I liked Oh Well.

Check out Man of the world , Need your love so bad , Stop messin round .... to name a few , also Christine McVies stuff wi Chicken Shack was crackin .... they were a completely different band with Buckingham et all , he is technically good but I just cant get into his style .... just a taste thing , not a dig ...

I think that's why I class him as underated. He is technically very good, but lacks the style/charisma of other greats.

Listening to some of their music on cd for a long time there were lots of songs I thought sounded like two guitars playing - but having seen the live footage and see its just him, there's not many that sound like that I think. Although I'll admit my musical knowledge isn't massive!
