The definition of bisexuality

There has been quite a few threads on this subject lately and very varied opinions I have to say.

For me a bisexual person is someone who can form a loving long term relationship, with both males and females.

If you participate in any bi activity ( male and female ) that doesn't make you a fully bisexual person, in my opinion.

For example many people in jail do so,it's purely for sexual relief and it serves a purpose for them.

In other words all sexual acts are meaningless, unless part of a week in,week out full time relationship.

I do however think people who do bi stuff, should put bi-curious on their profiles to avoid any misunderstanding.

Need to know basis

I asked a woman (I have been chatting to and have met on a few occasions) not so long ago if she would fancy a FFF, her response was 'I've not had an FF yet' but her profile shows Bisexual.

I do not and never have mis-understood my sexuality.

Ashamed is not the term I would use....unsure/confused is probably more accurate in my opinion. Everyone will have their own definition of bi sexual/curious (I've even seem another label but cant remember it now). When in doubt I trust my good friend Wikipedia to help although I am not always in agreement. I dislike labels with a passion!

Bisexuality is a romantic attraction, sexual attraction or sexual behavior toward both males and females. The term is mainly used in the context of human attraction to denote romantic OR sexual feelings toward both men and women. It may also be defined as encompassing romantic or sexual attraction to people of all gender identities or to a person irrespective of that person's biological sex or gender, which is sometimes termed pansexuality.

Bisexuality is one of the three main classifications of sexual orientation along with heterosexuality and homosexuality, which are each parts of the heterosexual–homosexual continuum. A bisexual identity does not necessarily equate to equal sexual attraction to both sexes; commonly, people who have a distinct but not exclusive sexual preference for one sex over the other also identify themselves as bisexual.

I have myself down as bi-sexual because I know that I enjoy playing with both men and women. Bi-curious to me implies that you haven't tried it or are not sure if it's for you. Passed being curious a long time ago.

Yet I have no interest in having a proper relationship with another women.

Why be picky about a description, it says to me swings both ways and knows it, bi curious like the idea but not sure if I would, not everyone is the same, there is a broader spectrum of sexuality than there is descriptions to label them if your not sure ask

Us bisexuals create such a bloody drama. What makes me laugh is that on the outside of swing land most people see sexuality as follows - straight or gay. If only they knew the dilemmas the traumas and grey areas there really are

So true, some people just say they r bi to tick a box but for us genuine bisexuals it's just a normal part of life. Some call us greedy, I say its appreciating ALL of God's work

On here, considering its a swinging site & not a dating site. I read bi as has sex with both & bi curious as curious about having sex with both.

If i were on a dating site, then bi might mean will have a relationship with both. But Im not on dating sites

Yep they are labels... but this is a sex oriented site not a relationship oriented one. So in the context of this site... they mean will consider option of having sex with either of the two possible sexes, seems to me that the only ones dissatisfied with that categorisation options are straight blokes who enjoy sucking cocks. Mostly women seem happy to be in whichever of the four categories they feel right in, and I don't think I have ever read a post from a gay man or woman who is confused by the prospect of accidental sexual contact with the opposite sex

Brighton - even Hove!

I've labelled myself as bisexual because I've had sex with men and women. I couldn't see myself in a relationship with a man though. I prefer women too much so think I'm gradually climbing (or falling) towards the straighter end of the sexual continuum. I very much enjoy bi mmf though. But have also played straight with equal enthusiasm so I don't know really. A bit mixed up.

Bisexuality by dictionary definition is sex with both genders or attraction to both genders. It is not about relationships. So, even if you fantasise about it but never get round to it, you are bi. The giveaway is in the word itself - biSEXuality.

if you enjoy the attentions of the same, and opposite sex, no matter what amount of participation it is, then you are bi.

there is no start off or cut of period to being bi, you either are or not, it really is that simple.

then again, arguably, if you are going by judgement, then you arent really a swinger because originally swingers were wife swappers, and you dont have one to swap.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

So if I can't put that I am a bisexual because I am not in a loving relationship with a woman, does that mean I can't put that I am heterosexual because I am not in a loving relationship with a man?

I am confused!!

As a male i would say simply:

Bi : love the cock, love the sex.

Gay : love the person.
