If it's causing pain go and get it checked and it may be a quick referral to physio. As you can make self-referrals to physio you could just ask about that if you don't want to see the doctor.

" I've been crocheting for a year and its only bothered me a couple of weeks ago but just put it off to doing too much of it which is why I haven't done it since. And then this pain started so gonna give the doctors a ring tomorrow

"Rotator cuff? Copied because I cant be bothered typing it all out Symptoms of a rotator cuff injury include: pain in your shoulder (or that moves down your arm), particularly when you raise or lower your arm difficulty placing your arm behind your back pain at night, particularly when you sleep on the affected side a feeling of weakness in your shoulder when you lift or rotate your arm a clicking or snapping sound when you move your shoulder The pain may come on gradually if you have tendinopathy, but your pain may be severe and sudden if you tear your rotator cuff because of a fall. These symptoms may be caused by problems other than rotator cuff injuries. If you have any of these symptoms, see your GP for advice. " Also if someone places their hand on the affected area of the cuff, it hurts like a bitch when they move it

"I would agree with others of an associated rotator cuff injury, i have torn my ssp tendon which is part of structure of cuff and have been waiting for an operation now 6 months and won't be till other side of new year, also upto about 6 months recovery after op ! Pain, weakness, aching especially at night, and hurts like hell after carrying things ! Get good pain medication, might be worth considering asking doctor for Tramadol hydrocloride, and a old fashioned drug called amitriptlyne last one alters your perception of pain, helps you sleep an is very effective with nerve pain, with doses upto 50mg but doctor needs to be consulted as if you have pain meds then you can continue to keep the shoulder/arm mobilised and avoid a frozen shoulder developing ! Hope it helps..." Thank you! I'm already on 500mg of naproxen already so I shall see what they can do!

"yes used the naproxen but its not much better than taking paracetamol, maybe if it's really causing mobility probs you need to get the pain threshold better. You would also benifit from some anti inflamities as well is it could be you have inflamation in the joint too. You ought to get it sorted as the frozen shoulder soon comes along then it can take nine months+ sometimes requiring an operation to release it, i'm only saying as i have suffered with other shoulder 15 years ago and the memory is till very much alive !" Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory. It shouldn't be taken with other anti-inflammatories (including ibuprofen/nurofen) unless instructed by a doctor.
