Used to have a FB in Telford and used to derive though the village (can't remember its name) where every single house was decked out with them

Leeds.

Every year on our street there is a war between two houses. It's amazing how much they hang off/bolt to/stick on top of their houses.

We're on the flight path to Leeds & Bradford airport too. We wonder if it gets the attention of the pilots as they're coming in to land lol.

You'd think with ever soaring energy bills people would be more mindful with their usage.

Takes me all my bollocks to eke out an existence during the winter months (and fit in a bit of fun). Probably the last thing I'll ever do is fix up loads of lights outside my house. Anyone else who does it: their business I suppose. Their electric bill too, thankfully

If it's just the odd few lights around a tree it's fine but when the entire house is covered with tons mismatched shite then it looks rather tacky.

Sometimes less is more

Titz Towers, North Notts

I can't abide it myself. However, when having a meet it can be useful if they have an obnoxious luminous reindeer on their roof, as I find seeing door numbers from 20 yards away in the dark a problem and I live in fear of knocking on no22, rather than no24...

A tree lit up outside or lanterns around a porch can look nice but kept minimal. Not lights in every window, light up reindeers on walls and the worst being those inflatable santas.

Newcastle-under-Lyme

A house near me has a huge inflatable Homer Simpson Santa which looks awful!
