The media is reporting that as many as 10,000 people are believed to have died in one Philippine city alone when one of the worst storms on record sent giant sea waves, washing away homes, schools and airport buildings

Unicef estimated that about 1.7 million children were living in areas affected by the typhoon.!.

Unicef's supply division in “Copenhagen” was loading 60 tonnes of relief supplies for an emergency airlift expected to arrive in the Philippines on Tuesday….!.

A Philippino lady looked after me when I was in hospital we became friendly and are still in touch via Facebook. Like many of her compatriots she has a big family back home, there will be lots of people in this country worried about relatives.

Horrible situation, the poor people.

Dealing with the aftermath and recovery of this natural disaster will require overseas aid as the Philippines no longer has a fully functioning infrastructure and the resources available for dealing with such a huge crisis in a timeframe that won’t necessitate prolonged suffering for its population….

So basically offer them help and support in anyway you can!.... If you want too..!!!!

I was going to buy myself a new pestle and mortar this afternoon Shute it can wait ill send the money to them instead, that's just what I'm going to do though

I remember my dad emptying his pockets completely years ago to donate towards the famine in Ethiopia. Most of us have so much and have grown so used to having it that we fprget how easily it could be lost

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

The UK has responded quickly and for once I am proud of the government response.

We are all subject to what nature and the weather throws our way. The effects are not just physical but long term psychological for some.

Spend a moment and think about how you would feel to survive such devastating events, witness people you love die and what you have left is whatever you are wearing and maybe whatever you have managed to hold in your hand.
