Didn't we already have the ashes this year? I seem go remember a lot of threads about them and that we retained them with a draw?

Just seen an advert saying they start on Nov 20th. Odd time of year to play cricket

I wish it was twice every year. I believe we have to wait until 2017 for the next ashes series though.

Wel Jel?? Didn't expect those words to come from a welsh rarebit, thought it was an essex thing

Evie think of it as a 2 leg football match that happens every year or 2. We won the home fixture now we're going to play the away fixture which being in Oz will be the right time of the year to play

Find it hard to believe that they can't produce some decent beer but if it's all "weasel piss" perhaps it's just what they're used to

The only decent pint I have had in Oz was in Adelaide local brew a bit like Holts ales (a Manchester ale) if you don't drink it you can always strip doors with it!

No i think we're in with a good chance of retaining it. Aussie performance as of late hasn't been good and their team is still in disaray. Their lead bowlers firing off anywhere and thier top order batting is inconsistent even though it only takes one of them to stay at thw crease to post a big score.

should be a good series

Newcastle and Gateshead

i can give you a really sensible answer... I hate it!!!

normally the ashes ever 2 years of the summer of that country...so it is normally round on the 18month/2.5 year schedule...

2009 england summer

2011 australian summer

2013 english summer

2015 australian summer....

however..... because the next cricket world cup is being held in australia in the 2015 australian summer... they didn't want both happening at the same time... so they brought forward the 2015 ashes forward to 2014 australian summer......

Thank you for that explanation and Evie for the question. I thought I had lost a year or something.
