And not in the sexual sense. When you have been seriously annoyed/gained frustration to the point where you can feel yourself about to lose it. What do you do? Do you lash out in the gym, etc or find some other remedy?

I nearly got killed in the car by a complete wanker and had to stop to calm down as my driving was badly affected. If it hadn't been for the electronic safety stuff all kicking in at once....well....

Just want opinions on what people do to calm down and get rid of that feeling? Not having a go at anyone or anything. So can't see a problem with this thread.

I have found I have felt the same after sleep. So don't think that will work. Tried a gym session and that didn't work either and it normally does

Can't for 2 vital reasons. 1. They are women and 2 I will be lumbered with a 4 or 5 grand debt and won't have a job to pay it back and doubt anyone will employ me after getting sacked from the previous job. If they knew I hit my boss.

I found out the hard way not to lash out, a mate wound me up till I went o hit him. I punched the wall next to him and broke two bones in my hand, since then I bottle it up till home time when if cycling home I will go as hard as I can till the anger goes. If riding the motorbike home, I release my anger in enjoying the ride, accelerating out of a corner hard or how I take the corner. Half way home I am happy and relaxed.

That's called "repression", which is not healthy and no wonder why many people suffer with some sort of mental problems/issues. The right form of retaliation is best. Maybe confronting the problem head on is best. Otherwise problems will keep happening

That's the trick. What to say, how to say it whilst keeping cool and showing people that they can't get away with it, but doing that in the right way is proving difficult.

Good thinking, but things have to be said over the next day or so. Failing that I will suffer and lose an awful lot of money. My only that, but if I write a letter it would be to late by the time they have ready it.

looks like you are going to kiss that money goodbye then as you seem to have a reason you cant do something for every suggestion made.

either man up and confront the situation in person and risk losing control or accept that you cant do that and lose the money.

I normally match into the office where my boss has his desk, point at him and signal for him to move into the meeting room next door, and then explode.

He usually knows I am unhappy the moment I match into the office.

Seldom explodes outside work though.

In terms of "physical" energy. I have one of, if not the most easiest jobs around and for all of you to know. If I collapse due to "internal" problems. It will be because of a stroke, burst blood vessel or a heart attack and it will be down to my job. If it happens whilst d*unk. The alcohol wouldn't have helped when trying to help me, but it certainly would not have been the cause of it. Just need to relax now, if I can as its been "sorted".

Example. You book days off work to go on holiday a few months back then your holiday gets booked. 5 days before going they say you can't have it off and you have spent what you consider a lot of money. Counting to ten, muttering, doesn't change the fact your boss has lied to you, out you in a difficult situation, etc. some form of action has to be taken as doing what you said only helps if someone upsets you. Not when there's a deadline involved.

Did try to do that, but I left the situation whilst being civil and then all I felt was anger, etc and even after the research and my usual remedies. I couldn't calm myself down. Hence why I asked for opinions on what to do to try and relax and get calm. I didn't let on my emotions when I was there though. Just said it was ridiculous, said I would help them and walked off.

Dude i have't read all the thread but if it is work related then bite your lip and dont let them get to you.

i made this mistake of losing my temper 9 years ago at 1 of the big 4 banks and lost my job. I gave them everything they needed to sack me after they kept pushing and pushing to get me to react.

I'd say bite your lip for now and look at future options about moving away and moving on with your career

i made this mistake of losing my temper 9 years ago at 1 of the big 4 banks and lost my job. I gave them everything they needed to sack me after they kept pushing and pushing to get me to react.

I'd say bite your lip for now and look at future options about moving away and moving on with your career "

Good advice if there was something upsetting me rather than not being have a day off, which was promised to me and now I have spent a fortune on that event already. Then 2

months later, 5 days before it happens. I get told I can't have it off. So would waste money if I didn't have it off. something has to be done/said so the day off can still happen like promised. Reacting negatively yes can get the sack, but ignoring the problem. Doesn't do anything as I need that day off

"I used to be unable to control my temper, it only lasted five seconds but in that short time I did a lot of damage. I learnt with age it was not good for me. I count to ten and have a fuck it it is not worth it attitude. Prefer a beer to punching someone's lights out

That's when someone has annoyed you. What if its something that couldn't wait?

If it still felt that bad after a count of ten I would walk away muttering to myself along the lines you do not want to be eating prison food

Not when there's a deadline involved."

Let's put it this way, I got pulled back off holiday. I did what I needed to do to sort the job and then went and spoke to boss about the error of me not having down time. I walked out of his office with a massive raise and two week holiday in Kos. No point in flipping, go in with a structured view and be polite. Usually get more by being calm and not losing your temper
