Has anyone else ever put them together with ginger in a soup, or have I just made a complete fuck up of lunch!?

I think it could work, Parsnips are rather sweet anyway, and Apples might make a good compliment.

Its a cooking apple so it should bring some sharpness to it. I think I've made a fuck up of a soup!

accrington-ish

I've made curried parsnip and pear soup, it's quite sweet but very more-ish. Google the recipe

may just try it without the spice & ginger first ... reasoning being, you can always add to a recipe but you cant take out

I knew I wanted the ginger in there hence putting ginger in at the beginning, but it needed something extra which is why I put the spices in

Im not keen on fruit mixed with other stuff.

Like putting prunes etc into a tagine....or gammon and pineapple ....though i did once have a cheese sarnie with a coleslaw and thought ...mmmm this is nice...

It had grated apple in the coleslaw. tasty
