Britians Most Aesthetic Building

In an answer to the post on the ugliest building in Britain what is the most pleasing on the eye piece of architecture you have seen? For me the Town Hall in Manchester is one hell of looker!

It depends..... Obviously building like Castle Howard were created with aesthetic grandeur in mind but some of the most stunning buildings I've ever seen are simply modest homes set in idyllic surroundings with amazing vista's of the sort architectural structure can’t improve ….!.

But in answer to the OP's question..... my vote is Durham Cathedral.....

Any of the Georgian crescents, like all Georgian architecture they both sit well in their surroundings and have wonderful presence without all the shouty stuff of the Gothic and Gothic revival buildings.

Yeah Bath Royal Crescent is pretty special.

The lighthouse by Rennie-mackintosh is great example of passive architecture.

The Welsh Assembly government building in Cardiff is nice too.

Been lucky to be involved in a lot of interesting projects though only a few with truly adventurous architecture.
