Do you think we have to feel it ...... to feel the High. When your at that all time low.

i guess so. i see people who have lots of things i dont, they just take things for granted sometimes, where as i get excited over the least little things.

Thankfully I have had many, many more highs than lows. The lows consumed me and I fought my way back with some help.

They make me realise how lucky I am that I had the strength, the determination, the bravery to ask for help and that there are truly people who suffer greater than I.

I wish them hope through their dark times.

My lows are far and between, and they are nothing when compared with those who are in much worse situation than myself.

Having a busy and demanding job certainly helped to carry me through my darkest hours.

And my small circle of family and friends/colleagues helped to keep my spirit up.

I would also thank my pets for their unconditional love, and can always rely on them to cheer me up whenever I am low.

I love to read The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran....he says only when you have known true sorrow can you experience true joy. I believe this to be true.....you cant appreciate the good times fully if you have never felt the despair of the bad ones........

When my mum died about 10 years ago it took me a good few months to get used to it, some days i am a bit low and feel sad that she isnt here, not all the time though.

don't think I will ever come to terms with it but my mum is not coping at all so concentrating on her at mo

I lost my dad 14 years ago, it gets easier but I sometimes start crying on spur of the moment. Had to keep it together for my kids and my mum. It's hard and horrible, sending you a hug at this time

It's coming up to the 4th anniversary of my dads death, he wasn't the easiest person to get on with and we hadn't spoke for months, my brother had died earlier that year and they weren't on talking terms, I think my dad just gave up after that!!

Just remember the good times Hun, it never stops hurting but day by day it gets a little easier to bare.

funny how when someone is born someone dies, when my son was born, my gran and our cat died, so it was happy and sad too.

I've never lived life without lows and highs so I can't say if one is made better for having experienced the other or not. I do know that even in the depths of an awful low it is still possible to experience an exquisite high.

About a month ago I sat with a close relative as she died, it was terrible in one way but the McMillan nurse who helped us was so compassionate and respectful that it actually became an experience that I will remember as positive in a strange way.
