I'm finding it's starting to get chilly but it's not really cold yet.

When it starts to get down to zero C and below, that's cold.

It's not unusually cold for the time of year.

I don't like it but I'm not surprised by it.

I would agree with posters above that it is mild and I have no heating on though I do have a 1 yr old wandering around the lounge and too dangerous to have the gas fire on as don't want the heating on until to other one wakes

the cold season between autumn and spring in northern latitudes (in the Northern Hemisphere from the winter solstice to the vernal equinox; in the Southern Hemisphere from the summer solstice to the autumnal equinox).

2.

the months of December, January, and February in the U.S., and of November, December, and January in Great Britain

According to the Met Office, winter in the UK is December, January and February. Astronomical seasons run around 3 weeks later with winter beginning at the Winter Solstice.

I'd link to a Met Office article but I'm probably not allowed.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/10323435/When-does-autumn-really-start.html

"In meteorological terms autumn begins on September 1, as each season is defined as a three-month period."

It is currently autumn.

I wasn't replying to you.

If you read through the thread there is at least one statement that it's winter. That is what I was commenting on.

You said it "seems" like winter which is different.

As a Northerner living down South, I findthe winters to be slightly mild in comparison to the North West. So to me, it's not cold at all. As for sleeping alone and feeling the cold, I recommend an electric blanket.

It's not bloody cold. It's probably at least double the temperature it should be for this time of year and has been for weeks.

I bet you're running around the house in a t shirt and shorts, moaning it's cold.

People don't dress for the weather these days
