I seem to have seasons for Pink Floyd. Can't love them unconditionally despite them being awesome musicians. So gutted Richard Wright died though, he didn't take anywhere near as much credit for his music as he deserved.

would have loved to have seen them perform before they split up.

Seen them since they split.

you've missed the concert, there's a few more pink floyd programs on (bbc4)

It's all on YouTube, search for either delicate sound of thunder or pulse.

There's a lot to like with Pink Floyd. Dark side of the moon is a masterpiece to be enjoyed as an entirety. One of those albums which somehow is greater than the sum of the various parts.

I always that the interviews at the start of the 'great gig in the sky' was somebody famous, but it turns out it was one of the studio security people..

Seem to remember his name was "Lenny the hat" and he was one of the roadies...

And yes I have everything the Floyd have ever done including the bootlegs, studio sessions and demos.

Have to say my fave album in Animals.

I love and hate Floyd in equal measure! Two great musicians, two distinctly average ones (obviously Syd is excluded from all this), one great songwriter and a whole heap of albums that I rarely play all of, due to the clunkers on there amongst the classics (classics as in great songs, not necessarily the most popular ones).

The post-Waters band was far more accomplished, musically but didn't have Waters writing the songs, so they were all a bit meh (no matter what Gilmour thinks, his wife doesn't write lyrics as well as Rog!). Much better live than the 'real' Floyd though. Listen to the original pre-FM bootleg version of DSOTM at Wembley, compared to the version they officially released a couple of years ago. James Guthrie really had his work cut out making a decent fist of that, Money is barely recognisable from the bootleg!)

I've seen Waters live a few times, none better than his first tour, with Clapton on guitar and one of the best light shows I've ever seen and have never seen the likes of again, totally unique. Shame he mimed most of the songs the last time I saw him a few years ago on the DSOTM Anniversary Tour!

Dont understand how you can skip tracks seeing as one leads into another on most of the albums. Its like skipping chapters of book and expecting it to make sense.

If all you're looking for is 'the concept, man', then I'd agree but I prefer to listen to cohesive pieces of music, rather than having to sit through a piece of self-indulgent bollocks before I get to the next piece of cohesive music!
