Had a bit of bother today .

I had to take a Nissan hire van out today and it needed fuelling up .

No problem , yeah right.

I pulled over before I got to the garage so I would not look a muppet for not knowing which side my fuel cap is and going to the wrong side of the pump .

A brief glance confirmed that the panel for the filler is on the passenger side .

After a very long wait for a pump I got one .

I could not open the panel, a glance on the drivers side and there is an identical panel but this IS the fueling side .

Out of the forecourt and around and waiting for a pump on the right .

Eventually one becomes free , trouble is I have no idea how to open it .

Out comes the handbook and it turns out there is a switch by the pedals .

Fill her up and in the shop I pay for the fuel with the fuel card allocated for hire vans .

A bit of banter with woman as there had been a problem with our fuel cards earlier .

"Fuel card declined ,"

"you what ?."

"Yep, it's been used three times already today and that's your limit !!."

Phone call to manager , "ok , I will drive up to you and pay for it."

"You might have trouble with that as I still have your car keys in my pocket from earlier ."

"Ah!."

He manages to get a lift and whilst waiting a woman decides that I am taking too long and sits on the forecourt with her hand on the horn .

She gets tired of that and comes bursting in and demands whose van is that , mine ,I confess and she gets nasty and gets it back just as my manager walks in .

Life is such fun sometimes .

It's a good job you weren't in the states; - that could have caused the gunfight at the esso coral!!

Wouldn't the pump hose reach around to the other side?

Then you would have avoided the angry women with the AK47!

No , it wouldn't reach .

I don't know why she got all narky as , as I pointed out, there were plenty of other pumps .

Mind, we met a loony like her before when we parked up in a car park to walk our dogs and this potty woman got upset because we were parked where she always parks when she walks her dog.

At first I just goggled at her in surprise but that got rather heated as well.
