wirral

My very good friend, a certain lady called HotRuby decided that she wanted to give up something for Stoptober.

Now, she's a league darts player and has a good bunch of vanilla friends from her association with the pub darts team and thus, she is a lady whom enjoys a social drink and like the rest of us sometimes over indulges. So she decided to set herself a goal, which was to not drink any alcohol whatsoever in October. Some of her vanilla friends gave up smoking and most had given up giving up within a week.

However, I'm very proud to announce to the world, well the forum readers of FAB, that HotRuby surprised her vanilla friends and avoided all temptations including a meet or two off FAB's too and achieved her goal of no alcohol at all in October.

Her reward, well she wanted to fit a size 12 dress which she now does, she looked fabulous in a LBD when she was at mine last weekend and she looks and feels a million dollars.

So Hotruby, I'm very proud of your achievement and good luck with your November goals.

As a sidenote, congratulations to anyone else whom achieved their non smoking target in October too.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Well done Ruby. It's not the easiest thing to remain social around drink if you're used to having that social drink.

Giving up the one thing that seemed to make my life stress free was hard, but over the last 9 weeks i have recovered my self esteem, confidence,i am stronger and my stress levels have gone down.

I now feel that i can look life in the face and say "Ok throw anything at me that you want, i can deal with it"

So if you ever feel that you need a drink to deal with a situation, then take a step back and look at it in a different light because believe me it is Achievable X
