My heart goes out to ex rangers legend fernando ricksen who at just 37 years old has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease. Thoughts are with him and his wife and young daughter.

It's not a nice thing for anyone but at that age with a young family its a travesty.

Very sad news, met fernando many years ago and he was a thoroughly decent man.

He was my favourite player along with peter lovenkrands.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I don't know who he is but all credit to him for going public about MND. It is such a horrible illness.

When my aunt was diagnosed I remember thinking I wish it was MS because at least there are some treatment options under trial.
