what's the best way to get nail varnish out of the carpet?

Learn to be more careful with it in the first place? There are nail varnish wells you can buy from poundshops to stop them tipping over.

unfortunately it wasn't my doing. my two year old dropped the bottle and the lid came off.

Find some nail varnish the same colour as the carpet and simply paint over it.

Get a cheap bottle of Remover, the stuff that you wouldn't use on your nails cos it strips them. Then test a patch of carpet in the corner if the room to make sure it doesn't melt it and then use cotton buds to work the polish out.

If that doesn't work get some acetone from a chemists or beauty supplies place, patch test then do the same.

I ve seen window cleaner and white vinegar somewhere. if that fails I might have to rearrange the furniture till Monday

My sister in law was quite surprised to be having a phone conversation with me about nail varnish before 07:00!!!
