Ok so having spoken to a lovely lady on here and discussing my former life...

It got me to thinking.. What is everyone's favourite sport??

Mine is definitely Football. Having played it all my life until 2 years ago.

I love boxing and rugby (both forms) too. But Football is/was my life!

Played hockey for years, so that's number 1. Then it's a draw between rugby & football.

Its got to be climbing!

Nothing is quite the same as standing in balance using friction to become part of the rock and defy gravity!

Not played hurling since I left school in Ireland! It was vicious (it was fun!) LoL

Played shinty a couple of times in the late 70s in Scotland (their version of hurling) equally vicious and fun!

ireland and scotland play each other every year in a compromise rule game.

i think ireland won this year but it does be pretty close

shinty looks like a very skillfull game but those shinty sticks look like they could do a lot of damage

Still got my hurling stick, it was made by a christian brother who taught my father and has a metal band to stop the face splitting, banned now and no wonder!

I don't watch or play anything religiously.

I used to play Ice hockey but gave up to go drinking and chase tail.

Enjoy watching the odd bit of football/boxing.

I probably should get back into some sport and would consider playing hockey again but the kit is so damn expensive.

Left Rugby alone. Didn't fancy being piled on!

seems that way its a shame as it used to be on the terrestrial channels when i was a lad ( Christ i sound old) but now coverage is limited therefore it does not get the exposure to the masses it needs ( that's the same for lots of sports) the terrestrial channels should have dedicated sports channels that show only minority sports or even rugby (union & league) but the lower leagues to generate interest in our youth to get them off the streets or arses to back playing sport ( sounds like party political broadcast)

boxing is a great sport i boxed as a junior but used to lead with my face lol and in rugby they only pile on you if there's a gentleman's disagreement ( set to) if you fall on the floor in open play then they just run over the top of you lol
