Like your leg ? How did you cope in plaster for weeks and get around .? One of my family has .

I have had toes broken on many occasions ( the joys of horses ) and a broken wrist! To be honest the cast didn't really decrease my ability to do things for myself!

Also chipped my coccyx a few years back! Now that was agony

I've broken my nose, ankle, ribs, jaw and torn my ACL... I'm an expert in the subject!

I also have more metal in me than Robocop!x

Broke two ribs playing rugby about three years back. It was ok except when I moved or breathed, not really painful but it would catch me out and make me swear.

I'm due to go into hospital soon to get the metal plates in my ankle taken out and replaced. Broke it 15 years ago and still get pain from it.

she come of her horse Sunday just slipped down his side and was on one leg . Just was told you can now get a bag to cover plaster so you can go swimming????? As have to keep her moving and have a indoor pool warm here at home.

My god I have broke practically every bone in my body,

The list goes every finger 2 toes one ankle one leg, my hip chipped my coxsyx crushed a vertebrae in my back, my left arm my right wrist dislocated both shoulders my jaw twice and last but by no means least my nose 4 or 5 times,

The joys of rugby and motorbikes, oh and one d*unk friend, the cast never really bothered me until I had an itch that's a nightmare

Leg when I was 9. Knocked down by a car. Right leg in full plaster for weeks and weeks and crutches. It's the treatment I received aterwards: picked up by an ambulance every day for physio at the hospital which has stuck in my mind

I just used to use black bags and tape when it was winter out hacking

There was no way I would let my nutters have weeks off while I recovered

Broke my scaphoid once playing handball, two weeks in plaster, a bit itchy but no biggie!

Had my ACL reconstructed in my early twenties though and that was awful. 2 weeks in hospital with a full plaster, ankle to arse, then 8 weeks with a lightweight plaster on, then another 8 weeks with just the backplate to the plaster held on with bandage, that I could take off for physio.

My leg looked like a twig after the first 10 weeks in plaster!

Yeah this is exactly what I used to do too. As for diet... Just keep the fat and calorie count down and drink plenty of water.

8 weeks in traction before they decided to operate. Only compensation because no one was actually poorly they used to send the student nurses on the ward as a bedding in time

Think need to rephrase that

Then 13 weeks in a calliper leg brace which wasn't that bad, you could take if off to go to bed.

Yea, compound fracture of radius and ulna thanks to both barrels from a horse who'd been in six months and I forgot to dope before hand walking one day......it was plated and pinned (still is) but took a long time to come right. Luckily I was still married then and the ex just took over the care of 5 horses........

Radius and ulna in my left arm, tib and fib in my left leg, 2 fingers in my right hand and 2 fooked discs in my back that needed surgery ... had a plaster cast upto my ass when broke my leg and came out if hospital on my 18th birthday with said cast, the girlfriend still rode me like seabiscuit for my 18th...she was very thoughtful

Did a humpty dumpty when I was 12, fell off the garden wall, broke my right arm but was really brave and did not cry. My parents did not believe it could be broken and waited a whole day before taking me to A&E.

I never got the plastercast ....... I broke my leg didnt know and walked around on it for six weeks ...... (yeah I have a high pain threshold level) - got bitten by something and the poison entered the bone and poisoned my system ... got rushed to hospital and put on total bed rest for a few weeks (I was not good at this one either, I kept escaping from my bed) then they decided it was something else nasty and sent me to the marsden hospital for a bone scan to check for cancer, (I totally confused them at the time), and then eventually got let out and on crutches for six weeks .... moral of story ... if leg hurts get it checked out

Lying on bed after having a double Fascioctomy and holes drilled into my shin bones. Been here for nearly two weeks and it sucks. This is the second time I have had this operation due to compartment syndrome and shin splints. Still I have Wifi and Duck dynasty to keep me company. And the lovely lady got me GTA V

Hairline fracture of my jaw when I got knocked of my bike when I was a kid,

broke my nose,

Broke a bone in my left hand, I was not allowed to ride the motorbike to work, after two weeks against the doctors orders I rode the bike it was bloody painful. I remember getting told off for turning up to the physioterrorist on the motorbike, as I was running late and was not supposed to be ridding it. Apart from that I hated not being able to do things with that hand, as it was the hand I wrote with.

They love avoiding giving you that operation too.

I've been offered everything but a knee replacement. It's because the replacement doesn't usually last more than 15yrs so they tend to hold you off until you're in your sixties or totally incapable of walking.

Fractured ribs a few times, stage diving or bbouncing off cars been tge main reasons. Fractured both wrists at the same time - that wasn't fun. Think that's it.

broke my leg when I was 9, spiral fracture right down my tibia bone, had to wear a cast for weeks, when they took the cast off the second time I had a pen lid down there, 3rd time was a pack of rizzla papers lmfao! Talking 12 years ago and then broke a toe a few years by my toe going underneath a wardrobe door with a cm gap between the carpet, got given crutches and was still forced to do a cross country run in p.e

I have broken my arm twice, fell off a roof at school and the second time got up in the night for a wee no lights on, fell and tripped on a carpet snapped the wrist ended up in hospital for a few days.

Fractured my foot- dancing

Fractured my elbow- slipping on a kitchen floor

Cracked my ribs on a fairground ride

And in April this year fell fractured my shoulder which is only just getting better.

I am a walking disaster and need to be wrapped in bubble wrap

When I was eleven fell off my bike broke my left tib and fib. My father refused to take me to hosp he said it wasn't broken. Limped on it for 2 days. Mam took me on the monday full cast on toes to thigh for 8 weeks. Years later had to have surgery on it to repair the leg. 5 staples and a plate in now.

Broken many toes and my left wrist wouldn't be a problem but I'm left handed. Lol

I had a car crash once fractuerd my sternum broke my knees and wrist but otherwise iwas ok but my legs strapped up six weeks but you adapt. I do anything to get off work

I fractured my arm falling out of a tree when I was a kid. It ess during the summer holidays and I was upset because the school would open the pool up for us and I couldn't go in cos of the cast so my dad wrapped it in cling film then put a bag over my arm so I could go in. Still had to hold it up but I was happy

Being in plaster doesn't have to stop you doing anything. My sister was in plasters for 17 months when she was 5. Both her legs from hip to ankle with a broom handle between each ankle to keep her legs at a certain angle.

My parents moved her room downstairs till they caught her hopping up the stairs to come see me lol. She used to rollerskate, skateboard, I think one time she climbed in top of the Wendy house roof at the local park (and got stuck lol). We used yo use her wheelchair as a merry go Round.

We went on holiday and everyone Round the pool gasped as she flopped into the pool (shehad fiberglass pplasters). The man at thegarage in mMalta nearly fainted when my dad asked for a hacksaw to cut her legs off as they got itchy with the sand lol

One heel, falling whilst climbing, never get it seen to, was still hurting months later.

A couple of ribs flying power kites, that really hurt, it was in the summer and I had bad heyfever, sniffing and sneezing had me doubled up on the floor in agony.

Wowwwwwww what a sister you have xxxxx most would never think she could do all that. .. My girl had second op yesterday pins and plate as its 3 breaks leg and ankle ..Just hope she can handle her pain when she get home and they give her pain killers . I have made her a bedroom in sitting room so I can look after her. xx

The only bone I've broken is my nose

It was a week before Christmas and I had to have an operation to straighten it... I had a big strip over my nose and two black eyes over Christmas and new year

There is not a lot of bones that I have not broken over the years as the damp and cold weather proves.

If I knew how much breaks hurt later in life I probably be a bit more careful

The joys of rugby and motorbikes, oh and one d*unk friend, the cast never really bothered me until I had an itch that's a nightmare yes they said in Hospital Horses and Motorbikes they see a lot how did you cope with ankle one leg ?"

The leg wasn't too bad because they were half pots, my arm was a full pot hand to armpit, with elbow bent my god that was annoying, I couldn't do anything, it was my left arm Beth's left handed lol

Mind over matter. The day after my knee op I was walking the dog on crutches (me, not the dog)(against strict doctor's orders) coz there was nobody else to do it. *shrugs*

"Broke my knee at 16 ice skating and paying the price now as can't walk and now need a replacement knee

They love avoiding giving you that operation too.

I've been offered everything but a knee replacement. It's because the replacement doesn't usually last more than 15yrs so they tend to hold you off until you're in your sixties or totally incapable of walking."

I'm already at the can't walk stage. Leg won't straighten at all and I'm reliant on crutches.

I'm quite lucky though my surgeon realises I need to be able to live now as I'm a single mum with a child and a job to hold down and not when I'm 60 so will do the replacement but just going through everything else first. I reckon within the year I should have a new one

My girl has had two ops and pins and plate and been on morphine today taken prip away and thay are going to give her oral morphine she don't look good I hope it works as well .. been in bed a week and she is fed up .

Tell her to hang on in there she's doing really well. It is a case of mind over matter. I have a plate and surgical staples in only severe weather brings me pain. Consultant told me I'd be wheelchair bound by the age of 40. I'm 47 and no signs of a wheelchair for me. I wish her a speedy recovery.

I broke my arm as a kid. Was trying to copy what my fat friend was doing swinging on the climbing frame in the school play ground. Figured if a fat kid could swing that far so could i, but failed, fell, broke my arm and knocked myself out lol.
