ignoring messages regarding meeting

Why do people arrange to meet then just ignore and further contact. Can't people just say "have had change of mind" Then at least you know where you stand.

I don't know why but this happens to us now and again, the person suggests meeting , we agree and suggest days or places and then never get a reply. I guess it's another version of the don't call us we'll call you scenario

I can't see how hard it is for someone to cancel a meet. If they've changed their mind or somethings come up its courtesy x
