Some sort of allergy & being pissed off!

Hey everyone!!

I've got some sort of reaction to something... The results are that my face is red and burns like fu**. It's really itchy and ofcourse that makes it worse. I've had this for about 6 weeks now and I'm getting sick of it.

My eyelids are red, my eyes feel permanently tired and scratchy, the skin around my eyes is red and my eyebrows are itchy.... The front of my scalp is itchy also but not my forehead so much.

I don't wash my face properly now because it burns like fu**, even with just plain water!

If I do wash my face, if I leave it damp, it burns and gets itchy... After I pat it dry and goes dry and flaky.

I applied e45 probably about ten times yesterday to ease it. It's getting ridiculous!

It feels much worse than it looks but still... this is really pissing me off now!

I don't want to go to the doctor because from past experiences, they tend to be very passive lol.. Ahhhh, its a rash... Have this emolient cream and a couple of tablets, you'll be fine... Come back in a few months if it doesn't clear up... Cheers.. haha!

So, I was wondering, has anyone else had this? Are there specialists I can see? Is it even an allergy? Has anyone got any recommendations?

I don't want to mess about with doctors then be put on a 6 month waiting list like last time... I'd prefer to pay.

Cheers everyone!!

Goodness, you definitely need to see a Doctor, and need a new one by the sound of it - 'cos there are so many conditions it could be!! Meanwhile try an Aloe Vera cream, if you can get Forever Living Aloe Propalis cream it's the most amazing I have ever found for all kinds of skin conditions in man and beast (horses have very sensitive skin).

I've just checked it's on Amazon and ebay.

Don't put any of the above stuff on your face until you've seen the doctor - you could have an allergy to the lanolin that's the base of most of these products. It's rare, but not unheard of. Try rinsing your face in water that's been boiled, then cooled sufficiently.

Thanks everyone...

I'm going to try the boiled water thingy then get the aloe very cream in ten mins...

I've phoned private places, they don't do allergy testing. Googled it, no luck.

Going to get the aloe cream in a min.

I phoned the doctor anyway when I posted this but they're booked up until tomorrow.

Going to get aloe in a bit.

what you have there, my friend, is mankyfannyitis.

have you rubbed your boatrace in an unwashed minge any time in the last few weeks?

saying that, the symptoms can lay dormant for months, so it could have been anytime in the last 5 months.

it usually only happens to teenagers when their zits become infected from licking their missus out and coming into contact with the last yoof that visited there.

the only cure for it is to turn around 4 times on the spot chanting 'i aint dun nuffin right! you can jus fook right off!' on each spin.

yes, im taking the piss, but the only decent advice you will be given is the one bit you dont want, so may as well be flippant lol

1) Doctor, and maybe change doctor.

2) sounds like a reaction to your soap powder. Your head is on a pillow, especially your scalp,

it could be bed bugs, or rather their droppings, or it could be a reaction to your washing medium.

Try a non biological liquid washing solution.

always put pillow cases on hottest wash.

buy a new pillow.

with anything medical, a doctor is always your first port of call, they should refer you to a dermatologist.

you can try Holland and barret, they do allergy testing in most of their stores, just ring and ask, but dr is free.

Honey if you go to a doctor and tell him you've had it for 6 weeks.. he HAS to take it seriously!!!

If he doesn't look like he is... demand better service from him or ask for a specialist referral!!

You MUST see a doctor!!

Good luck xx

Could be anything. If you have failed to determine what could be causing it, chances are it's not an allergy, but a condition. Could be anything from eczema to blepharitis. Don't attempt to get to the bottom of it and treat yourself, you can cause more damage.

Try rinsing your face in salt water, and some chemist's do skin testing try Boots they do all sorts.

In the meantime if your face stings when you have applied creams then it's a sign that it is working.

Did Mum not say to you "If it hurts or taste horried then it's good for you" Just run around the room for a while until it goes. Seriously though i hope you find a solution for your problem, but you may need a steroid cream from your GP !!

if you cant get into doctors then go to the chemist and as to speak to the pharmacist directly. They are generally extremely good at advising on conditions and remedies. Good luck and hope you find a solution

You may have a tropical skin disease, (even though you haven't been on holiday!)

In these days of air travel etc an infection can be transferred to someone thousands of miles away in just hours.

Happened to a lady I know, she suffered for months till a chance conversation, she went to a specialist in tropical medicine, was diagnosed in double quick time, given the exact correct treatment, and was cured in days. Your G.P. won't have a clue, so ask for a referral to see a skin specialist asap.

if you have been suffering for 6 weeks and using e45 for six weeks to no affect I would stop using e45, its not helping and could be aggravating your condition.

Right... Went to the boots pharmacist! Woooo... They're great. I asked a lady (you know how it works guys) who then referred me to a resident doctor guy. He sad, have you been on holiday recently? I said yes, he said ok... Did you get this during or after holiday.. I said a few days after.. he said ok it looks and sounds very much like an allergic reaction to something.

I've got........

Duh duh duh duuuuuuuh duh duuuuur.....

Antihistomines!

Woooo xxxx

great to hear you got treatment ...always worth popping in to have a chat at the chemist as they can often sort the problem in a fraction of the time and without alot of the dramas encountered trying to see your GP

Yeah... This guy said that with the antihistamines, these cases often clear up in about a week or so but he said I need to get the doctor to prescribe me an allergy test to find out what the cause is.

Avoid licking pussy for a while you may have a reaction

On a serious note fab folk can offer opinions but medics are best placed to advise and should go regardless of past issues.

Brighton - even Hove!

Any chance of a face pic?

Washing in just water will (ironically) dry out your skin. No use (like others have said) putting creams on your face as you don't know the cause. Might be an allergy or reaction to washing powder or bed mites as people have already said (wash it all at a very high temperature) otherwise you just get clean bed mites....

The antihistamines might improve matters but you still need to identify the cause of the problem not just treat the symptoms. Good look, anyway....oh, hang on....

Write everything down that you eat, drink, put on your skin, washing powder, everything!! Note any reactions. Times, exactly what the symptoms are and what you were doing prior to the reaction. (Where you stressed, exercising) do not self diagnose or self medicate. Allergies can be v serious and you need to equipt yourself with enough info for your gp to take you serously and refer you to a specialist. Trust me I know! Been hospitalised sooooo many times.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

If the anti-histamines don't clear it up you may need some steroid cream, (e.g. hydrocortisone). There are some side effects to be aware of from that though so only a doctor can prescribe it for use on the face. It may be worth seeing your GP just for that.

I hope you get it cleared up and find the cause.

If you need something to moisturise your skin to help stop it flaking after washing it, try Bepanthen baby moisturiser for extra sensitive skin. Tesco stock it and I expect other supermarkets will too.

See your GP and get a referral to a Dermatologist who may then send you to see an Allergy Consultant or a Cutaneous Allergy Clinic. After seven long years I go to the bottom of my condition this way, ending up with a Formaldehyde Allergy, smokers and exhaust fumes plus some foods being the main culprits.

Ok!! Been to the doctors...I have a skin disease called rosacea.

And there's no known cause and no known cure...Shite...

Anyway, I've been given antibiotics and special cleaning gel. He told me not to use any soaps, only use the gel provided. He said maybe it will go on its own.

In the meantime... My face seriously feels like its on fire and my eyes are stinging.

Ohhhhh!!! I may end up having to wear something called foundation too. Ladies... I'll let you know as and when! I may need some expert help.... And ermmmm I may need expert help from more than one of you.... Hahahahaha!
