People who state athletic on their profiles!

I am a little confused on this as there are lots who put this on their profile but when you look they are not exactly what I would call athletic. So what would you say is necessary to deem that someone has an athletic body?

Some people have magic mirrors or are just deluded but if they want to put it and feel they are in their eyes let them and smile at it.

Mo Farrah is an athlete of outstanding abillity, and if he was unknown, folks would call him skinny. Having a six pack doesn't necissarily mean athletic. It just means you do a few squats now n again!

Athletic, muscles that you can see or toned, average, normal, not over weight.

Curvy, curves in the right places.

Ample, to many curves in the wrong places

But as always if your happy with what you got then who cares

Anyone who plays sport and is fit might think they r athletic, doesn't mean they are! Fitness and physique are very different, I'm a 22 but quite fit for a fat bird, I wouldn't say I was an athletic body type though just a mental state!

Well it kind of does if you believe people put up a profile to attract others to them. I think wrong information provided by people can lead to them being let down by people later when they realise they have been misled.

Yes but then if people see a full length pic then they can make their own mind up....people perceptions differ from person to person in all ranges of subject and issues....there is a clear pic of my body for all to see...some may perceive me to be incredibly fat where another person will perceive me to be chubby...it's swings and roundabout...people mislead others everyday it happens..I just think people have such an issue with other peoples size...when really it's about fun and that we won't cater to everyone...

Truth,, On a profile. Stop it or my 12" cock will drop off, poetic license, exaggeration, rose tinted specs all play a patt in a profile, pictures give an indicator better than a desription,,

Some people only put certain angles or body parts on show. We all want to be viewed in a positive light. However, I also have an uncompromising body shot. So if I'm not the body shape people are looking for it is clear and open to all.

Athletic - a chap who standing up can look straight down at his own flaccid cock

Curvy - a guy who has to lean forward to see his own flaccid cock

Fabulous - a guy who has to ask someone what his cock looks like even erect

"Some people only put certain angles or body parts on show. We all want to be viewed in a positive light. "

Huge problem on here!

What is the point of putting up pics only to look jack shit like you have led someone to believe when "you" sic Mode `= "generic", it makes no sense to me!

I know someone who I met, met a guy and she walked straight back out within 5 minutes!

But each to their own I guess!

Coming back to the original "point" the OP is trying to make, it's subjective, we all deem people differently.

That being said, people should be able to decide for themselves from the profile pic and/or pics, but also, take what you see with a bucketful of salt too!

Not applicable to all, but the vast majority take what they see far too literally!

And to be honest, I'm not that fucking shallow!

Just my 2 cents!

Nope! Based on the statement you just made it doesn't.

You said a "good time" indicative of someone you would actually WANT to have a good time with.

If you had just said "I'm here to fuck attractive people", then in that mode I would call that shallow yeah.

Because that *could* mean you'd be willing to fuck a total cunt!

I wouldn't. Well technically I would fuck a cunt but that's not my point!

My point is, I would and indeed you would have to "like" that person which in and of itself doesn't make you shallow.

For me, it's the personality/convo first..pics almost second.

It could be Gemma Atkinson I'm talking to, if I think you're a bit of an idiot, I wouldn't meet.

Same goes for me, besides me being a monumentally ugly fuck, if said person didn't like me, I would expect the meet to pretty shit.

Basically to have an 'athletic' physique you need to actually look as though you work out - and going to the fridge for another beer doesn't count as a workout (unless its a really REALLY big can).

Most people want a bit of honesty in the whole 'who they choose to meet' mix. We all have a very good idea of what each of the sites body labels are trying to categorise. If any of us choose to opt for the 'wrong' label then it will usually come out in the mix.

I believe that an honest profile with regard to body type will probably be a more successful one. Never forget, athletic doesn't attract everyone.

The choices are for body types/physiques. I know guys who are most definitely 'athletic', but couldn't run the length of the street if their life depended on it. But they have the 6 pack and toned muscles.

On the flip side, I know guys who play all sorts of sports, go running, but have no six pack to parade. Although they may be physically fit and athletic, their physique doesn't follow that, and therefore I would see their body type as average.

However, what does grip my shit is guys who are clearly overweight and carrying a beer gut who describe themselves as athletic or average. That is a case of magic mirror!

very true I run a lot but of lot of so called athletic people cant, but do the weights and six pack etc.

You see at the gym I goto some look like royal marines but some grannys run further than most of them you never see them doing any cardio.

Like you say you can be athletic but not toned

That is no different to obese women describing themselves as fabulous.

The difference being, obese isn't an option. Large however is, but some people are slightly deluded on how to describe their body type. At the end of the day, lying about who you are isn't going to end well. I have asked someone to leave before because they misrepresented themselves and used old photos.

we get lots of blokes messaging saying athletic,we look at their pics and laugh.

12 inch arms and a flat chest aint athletic.

if they cant tell the truth about their body type when we can see a pic, what else are they lying about?

we just delete them

I play the odd game on a weekend and of the 14 other fellers on the pitch, there are a lot of variations on 'athletic', not all of whom, I imagine can see their own flaccid cock, but who can all run about for 80 minutes.....

Yes I've heard that saying before lol

I've read that classically, a mans upper arm should be somewhere around 2.3 times the circumference of his wrist, my upper arm being 14.5 inches I'm shy of that, and doubt I'll ever reach it however.

Given that he is an athelete, I would say that he is probably the definitions of 'athletic' you are possibly confusing 'althletic' with 'muscular' they aint the same. Just cos you can pick up a few weights doesn't mean you have any athletic ability, ergo your physique is not athletic.

I would say that "athletic" implies a level of physical fitness, which, I imagine can be an advantage in the bedroom. If you are ripped but can't run 200 yards without collapsing, you aint athletic, and shouldn't be ticking the box.

i doubt anyone ripped is going to collapse at 200 yds.

again you are forgeting the box to be ticked is your body type, not what you do.

if fab changed it to muscular, blokes would still tick it.

same as putting 6 foot plus because they think thats what women want to see

If your going on the dictionary version of athletic then maybe Mo Farah isn't athletic, as that would be big built etc etc, but i see where your coming from in terms of him being athletic fitness wise, as he will do a lot of strength training with weights, but he won't want to put onto too much muscle, as that will effect his performance.

As far as I am aware fitness can be measured in strength, speed and endurance. Different atheletes will have different levels of each, but if you are totally lacking in one or more, you aint an atheletic, and it is my experience that those who become obsessive about training strength that tend to forget the other pillars, although you do get your 'skinny fat' cardio bunnies.

I think I would agree with you if the statement was about athletic in the sense of general fitness. If it is just about "athletic look" then I guess a guy who looks fit might not actually be fit? Does that make sense?

I train weights 3 x a week, Rugby training twice a week and often have a game at weekends. I still put 'average' because I'm dragging on a bit now, and I really wouldn't class myself as an athelete anymore - I'm too fond of beer and eating and as such anyone expecting to shag the duracell bunny would be dissapointed.

So if you have a saggy stomach and a nice set of moobs, but go to the gym twice a week and do a 10k bike ride every Sunday, you can tick athletic?

But if you smoke, drink and couldn't run a mile without being wrecked but can however gain good body definition, 6 pack and guns, by doing weights and a few sit ups, you shouldn't?

Yes, but the same applies - the word means someone who's suitable to engage in athletics! That to my mind would include the whole range of physiques you see in track and field events - by definition. You cannot exclude the slimmer ones or say they are less athletic, if anything they are more!

Sod it. I'm going to start a Fab fitness test and allocate everyone's body type!!

For cardio it will obviously be how long you can fuck Me for.

For weights it's how long you can hold my gunt up for whilst licking me out

This will be a mandatory test for all, males and females (bring your own strap on ladies or I do have one you can borrow if need be)

There will be performance brackets for each body type which are yet to be decided.

I don't want a curvy woman to turn out to be a wobbly woman but that's most likely.

Doing a triathlon every month would make somebody look more athletic!

Why not just change the description to muscular for males and slim for women?

Interesting, I was going to ask about this today too!

Was wondering whether people would class me as athletic or keep average?

Yes, but it is your definition of the word athletic that is incorrect even purely in terms of appearance - the athletic body IS the type of body that looks suitable for athletics of all sorts!! You prefer one end of that spectrum - say the 100 metre sprinter type body over the 5000 metre or marathon runenr type. But they ARE both athletic in appearance, whether on fabs or on the moon!

Not really. "Average" is most people, of which I am one. But equally, you are also average if you have worked out that if you eat at a deficit, eat enough protein and lift a bit then you will lose bodyfat and get muscle definition.

I dunno. There's a lot of difference between a 400m runner and a 5000m runner body wise.

But 'athletic' has an implied level of fitness that other body types do not - Mo Farrah and Usain Bolt have different body shapes but are both althletic.

Apparently so. "In England, most people are overweight or obese. This includes 61.3% of adults and 30% of children aged between 2 and 15." (Dept Health)

Looking around I'd prefer not to be 'average' but they don't have a 'healthy' option.

But, for what seems like the 100th time lol, my 'personal' take on the subject doesn't consider the level of fitness, because that is not what the option is for. It's for body type. And my interpretation on athletic on appearance alone is a muscular build. So if Mo Farah joined tomorrow, slim would be appropriate for his body type. This doesn't take away from his athletic capabilities.

NHS site says otherwise:

•There has been a marked increase in obesity rates over the past eight years – in 1993 13% of men and 16% of women were obese – in 2011 this rose to 24% for men and 26% for women.

Newcastle and Gateshead

the funny thing is when the athletic conversation comes up... always the "6 pack" brigade come out.....

but if you for example looked at most of the england rugby team.... or american football for example.... bet you wouldn't call them "unathletic" to their faces......

having a 6 pack doesn't always make you fit (body builders are an example), likewise being larger build doesn't always make you unhealthy (i don't think I have seen a 6pack on a klitschko or tyson fury for example in quite a while)

in fact.... the look of a "toned bodied airhead" when this fat bastard has beaten them is a joy to behold.......

You can say they are not what you mean or want but you can't say they are not athletic!!

LOL at the rolly eyes. I would be considered overweight by the DoH or NHS, but I'm not. Too much emphasis is put on BMI. A heavyweight boxer would be considered overweight but would be athletic and fit too. Body shape, height, muscle distribution, fat %ge, visceral fat etc should all be taken into account, but they never are.

I'd suggest you listen to your doctor - not the listed excuses. We've just got used to people being fatter and now consider people slightly overweight to not be so fat. But they still are.

Haha, no, if such a world class ATHLETE joined tomorrow, ATHLETIC would be the most appropriate word for his APPEARANCE - it's just that you wouldn't accept it because your personal definition is different from the accepted and true meaning of the word!!

and you have just proven my point. I'm not saying half of the 'average' guys probably are just as, if not more, athletic than the ones who merely 'look' it. But to me, I find a nice, toned body attractive. Not the weekly fitness regime.

And just as a point, I haven't met a 'toned bodied airhead' yeah, I only meet decent people with decent personalities, whether 'athletic' or average. If they have the toned body to go with that, then even better.

Some people like to think they are athletic, some think putting it will improve their chances. Others are born liars (as with age) and know they are not but put it anyway. I will say one thing and that its the default setting as in age 18-99 so it could be sloppy profile setup.
